Sellers description:
Chequered Flag International is pleased to offer this 1971 Jaguar E-Type V12 Coupe in Primrose with Biscuit interior. Solid underside, very clean & straight throughout. Same owner for last 31+ years with excellent older paint. Nice interior, superb mechanically - heads, timing chain, carbs, etc rebuilt in 95 but only 2000 miles or so ago. Drives fantastically, great power - no smoke or smells. Shifts smoothly, nice clutch & synchros. This is a really good example of an increasingly popular Series III E-Type. Although all hardtop V12's are 2+2's all the lines were stretched to look like an enlarged Series II Coupe, not a 2+2 with a V12 engine. The biggest number of these were produced in automatic - 4 speed is a far better configuration & this one has all the other available options - A/C & wire wheels. Early V12's have the small bumpers (before DOT) which is much prettier, all of which go to make this a sensible and fun car to own. Has all its original books & lots of records. Drive it or collect it - you can't go wrong!

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
