Sellers description:
1971 Jaguar XKE V12 Coupe..1st year of the V12 model...a very worthwhile restoration project...even though the car looks rough in the pictures this car has very little rust on it....the body is very solid and there is no rust on the floors....The car shows mileage at 40,000 and as far as I can it looks to be correct...
The car has been in indoor storage for the past 15 years..the previous owner states that the car was driving well at the time...it was sent into a local Jaguar repair shop in 1987 for general repairs...these repairs included Carb rebuild..new motor mounts..new speedo cable, new exhaust system..., thermostat and brake servo system..I have the receipts which amount to around $5,000..The car was then sent to the paint shop where it was supposed to be painted....a dispute ensued between the then owner and the Jaguar repair shop and the paint work never got done....
the previous owner then lost interest in the car and there it stood until recently....The car needs to be gone through but it is very solid and very worthwhile restoration....the interior needs to be redone but the car is complete...it did run and drive back and had a tremendous amount of work done to it them but I am sure a lot of the work has been negated by time sitting...
All in all it is a project..but if you do the work to this car you will know what has been done and how it was done ...it is a complete car that warrants restoration..
