This 1971 Jaguar XKE is a 2+2 coupe that was acquired by the seller three years ago following a refurbishment with new metallic paint over a beige leather interior. Power is from a 5.3-liter V12 paired with a four-speed manual transmission, and the car features Series 1-style enclosed headlights, a steel sunroof, air conditioning, electric windows, and a Sony CD player with Bluetooth. This V12 E-Type is offered with a clean Arizona title in the seller’s name.
The body was repainted in its current non-factory metallic color under previous ownership. Exterior equipment includes dual fender mirrors, enclosed headlights, and fog lights mounted behind the grille. The condition of the finish and brightwork can be viewed close up in the image gallery below.
Chrome 15″ knock-off wire wheels are mounted with Michelin Radial XH4 whitewall tires. A matching spare is stowed beneath the trunk floor.
The interior has been reupholstered in beige leather with matching carpets and darker plastic accents. Appointments include air conditioning, late-model rocker switches, and a Sony CD player with Bluetooth. The car is also equipped with a steel sunroof and retrofitted electric windows.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, and a five-digit odometer showing 46k miles. Approximately 200 miles were added by the seller, and the actual total is unknown. Gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level are located in the center stack.
The 5.3-liter V12 is equipped with four Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and drives the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. Service prior to the seller’s acquisition is said to have included adjustment of the carburetors as well as replacement of the fuel pump, clutch master and slave cylinders, spark plugs, and battery.
