Car to be at auction in '07
www.coys.co.uk/auctions/lot.php

Auction description:
Blenheim Palace, Oxford
Saturday 14th July 2007
Lot 445
1971 Jaguar E-Type Series III V12 Roadster
Registration no: MCY 69J
Chassis no: IS71489
Estimate: £19,000-25,000

Competitively priced, this very well presented Jaguar has been finished in a striking Indigo blue with contrasting burgundy interior. The improvements and specification are impressive, it has been put together with a view to everyday driving and accomplishes this brief well. Power comes through a 5 speed manual Getrag gearbox with a stainless steel exhaust coping well with the exhaust. The chrome wire wheels all have new tyres on them and it comes complete with a working immobiliser and alarm system. Inside a modern face-off stereo is present, a Motolita steering wheel and the sometimes adverse weather can be kept at bay with a hard top. It should be noted that this is a factory unit and has been with the car from new. The soft top is in excellent condition and comes with a hood bag. The overall effect is good, reliability, classic open-top motoring combined with just a breath of a few sensible upgrades. With nearly a full years MoT, MCY 69J represents a good all round E-Type package.

Auction Date: 26 May 2012
Lot 221 - 1971 Jaguar E-Type Series III Roadster
Registration: MCY 69J
Chassis Number: 1S71489
Engine Number: 7S2985SB
Odometer reading: 01052
Estimate: £29,000 - £34,000
Hammer: Sold
Plus Commission: £32,000

This E-Type roadster was first thought registered overseas but since repatriated to the UK in 1997 and converted to righthand drive. A desirable conversion resulting in its current roadster configuration has also taken place with much subsequent work carried out by Jaguar specialists, Bristol Classic & Sportscars Ltd resulting in a well sorted example. Finished in metallic blue with matching hardtop and a contrasting red leather trim, the chrome wire wheels enhance the appearance of an already eye-catching roadster. Combined with a manual gearbox, this example makes for an excellent driving experience. Supplied with a V5 registration document, a full years MoT test certificate and a file of bills and invoices, this E-Type represents extremely good value.

Lot Number 163

Model E-Type

This lovely example is presented in arguably the most desirable colour combination of dark opalescent blue over a red leather hide. Both the body and interior are in good all-round condition as is the rare factory hardtop and the history file that accompanies the car includes bills and invoices of previous work carried out. Showing a mere C.61,600 miles on the odometer and described to be in good running condition the V12 is ready to be used in the coming summer months.
