Ebay item 11/30/14
www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-E-Type-2-2-1971-jaguar-series-3-e-type-v-12-4-speed-coup ...
Car has a buy it now price of $34,500 for 6 days.

Sellers description:
1971 Jaguar Series 3 E-Type V12 4 speed Coupe

Rediscovered, Rebuilt, Refreshed, Ready for the Road.

A prime example of Jaguar's very comfortable and very sporting four-speed V12 coupe in the 2+2 configuration. This early production Series 3 coupe has had only two previous owners since new and was found in a garage where it had been carefully stored for 25 years. Last registered in 1987, it is factory original in almost all respects and is a remarkably well-preserved automobile.

This car is finished in its factory Pale Primrose with beige leather. It has been garaged from new and is entirely free of rust or any rust repair. We refinished the bonnet because the factory lacquer was cracked, the remainder of the paint is original and in very nice condition. Good chrome. The engine, transmission and clutch have been completely rebuilt by well-known Jaguar specialists Consolidated Auto Works in Portland, OR. Since then, the car has covered a scant 200-300 test/service miles.

The first owner sold the car after nine months to the second female owner. She drove it for business and pleasure, but never in bad weather, until she racked up 95,000 miles and sent her Jaguar in for renewal. With the engine and transmission redone, the owner then had other considerations and the coupe sat covered in her garage for two-and-a-half decades, until it was purchased by us. (Because the rebuild goes so far back, neither the shop or the long-time owner have the records any longer, but either party will verify verbally that the work was performed.) On our purchase, we flushed fuel tank and fuel lines, installed new brakes all around, installed new front and rear suspension components, did lots of freshening, and the car was back on the road. Simply put, this E-Type coupe drives superbly. It is a solid, supple and powerful motorcar.

The 3.28 differential was changed out in favor of Jaguar's more relaxed 2.88 gearing. Now the tachometer stays in the lower ranges at cruising speeds, but the car is still quick to respond, happily eliminating any need to install an aftermarket five-speed. The exhaust note coming from the factory-correct quad exhaust tips is race-bred and exotic. Check the reactions as this sporting GT from a more elegant time as it makes its way through modern traffic.

The lovely interior is original, with the exception of a new headliner and a high-end Kenwood music system. The rear dual-speaker enclosure did not require any modifications to the interior and is easily removed for shows. The rear seat leather is nearly as new, the front seats show their age, which some call patina; the leather is not torn or split and still soft. Custom floor mats protect the velvety moquette carpeting originally installed.

This was never a neglected Jaguar. During the long-term second ownership, it was always professionally maintained by the owner's personal friends at Consolidated Auto Works. The car has now been brought back to peak condition and performance:

All electrical and mechanical systems are fully operative.

The engine is tight, the transmission shifts crisply, the a/c has a new compressor and blows GM-cold.

The suspension is firm and athletic, with Koni shocks front and rear.

The tires are new 215-70-15 Dunlops.

The original Dunlop SP Sport spare and original bag and jacking tools are in place (including the factory-supplied but rarely seen hubcap removal tool).

The chromed steel wheels are brilliant and as originally equipped.

The Owner's Manual with all the additional factory literature is in the original pouch, plus bonus vintage Jaguar literature (1977 up) as found in the car after removal from storage.

A final authentic detail -- the spare ignition key the factory fastened to the engine bay bulkhead is preserved.
