Thanks for registering your car here. If you get a few moments could you please get the rest of the numbers (engine, gearbox, and body numbers) off of the data plate that should be mounted in the center of the vertical part of the firewall so the record for your car can be a little more complete? Also the manufactures date off of the sticker on the driver's door jam would be great.

I have upgraded the cooling system so the car does not ever come close to overheating. I just drove to Palm Springs in 107-degree heat with not sweat.

Hold on to your hat while on the freeway…the top speed of this baby is 160 MPH!

Room in the back for two kids and the wife can easily take the car with the auto tranny.

Consider this: If you're hoping to spend a couple grand less for a different Etype because it looks like a "better buy", guess what: no matter which Etype you pick up, it's probably going to cost you in time and/or repairs, and time is money too! This car has undergone EXTENSIVE, RECENT mechanical care and you "should not" have to do anything to at least have a strong running car. So, if a couple grand is coming between you and the decision to own one in Jaguar Signal Red, think again, and bid with a clear mind!

GENERAL INFORMATION:
BODY:
· Brand New “$9000” Professional Paint Job!!
o Approximately 85 hours of Professional Labor and materials into this car.
o Paint job completed in Northern California a few months ago. Paint is now cured and car has been lightly waxed only once.
o Car was last black-blue.
o No accident car.
o 100% sanded down to bare metal. Some were taken with a poor digital camera and are dark, but you could clearly see the body is 100% sanded. Will send new owner all pictures.
o Car had been painted with poor paint jobs over the past 35 years of its life in colors - black-blue, white and possibly green according to the layers that were sanded off. It may have been British Racing Green out of the factory. The re-paint jobs were poor and don’t come even CLOSE to what it is now!
o Inside of bonnet, rear hatch and sills have also been painted.
o Have showed this car to other professional paint shops who have been impressed by the quality, and comparable pricing.
o Dozens of hours of serious Professional Labor went into the paint/body.
o Minor dings pulled, straightened and fixed prior to new primer and several new coats of red lacquer paint.
o Car had no dents and was very sound, despite the paint.
o Painted BRITISH JAGUAR SIGNAL RED – the original Jaguar Red.
o NO RUST – California Car.
o Body is PERFECT! Looks like just off the factory floor.
o Chrome is in great condition and car comes with “extra” chrome strips if you want to do upgrades.
o Door-locks need to be tweaked – they stick sometimes.
o Undercoating and under-side of car are in great condition.


ENGINE/MECHANICS/TRANSMISSION:
· Car has absolutely ZERO leaks! (Highly unusual for a classic XKE.)
o NO oil leaks.
o NO gas leaks.
o NO Transmission fluid leaks.
o NO Water leaks.
§ Upgraded cooling system (by both current and previous owners) - car does not ever come close to overheating. Previous and current owner used to cruise through Palm Springs and/or other California sites in 90-degree to 107-degree heat with no car problems! No overheating. Has new electric cooling fans, hoses, etc…
· Starts every time – Runs Strong and Great!
· Thousands $$$ in recent repairs over the past couple years.
· Over $13,000 just in new paint and repairs!!
o “Steal” this car and make it “cherry” like the paint!
· Car has not needed much mechanically because it runs great and has just under 42,000 original miles, and because it has been regularly serviced by owners, probably its entire life-span.
· Recent tune-up and “41,000 Mile Service”, including work or adjustments such as attention to fuel system, oil & filter change (oil is super clean looking on dip-stick), brake system/master cylinder/calipers, electrical system, lights, horn, etc…
· Car has been regularly serviced by Professional “JAG-Only” mechanics by its present and previous owner.
o CarFax Report has NOT been conducted. You’re welcome to do so.
o As far as we know, all miles are original – LOW MILES CAR.
· Brand new fuel pump – car runs much more powerfully than with old pump!
· Carburetors just serviced. One of the (4) Stromberg Carbs had a slight gas leak, so carb was completely rebuilt.
· Automatic Transmission shifts automatically (or manually), smoothly and quickly.
· Step on the gas, and the car rapidly responds!

INTERIOR/ELECTRICAL/GAUGES/AIR CONDITONING/LIGHTS:
· Seats in great condition. Most of interior looks great. Could use a Professional Detailing job, or Do-it-Yourself job if you like doing that sort of stuff.
· The dashboard has a one-inch square “tear” - (see picture just above steering wheel). Could use a good repair job from an Interior Specialist.
· Headliner has a tear about 8 inches long above the driver’s spot but is not really noticeable unless you’re looking for it. Also has about a 1 inch hole on the passenger’s side. Neither of these detracts from the looks of the car, but if you want to take this to “Restored” Condition, of course, you’ll have a new headlines installed.
· Seat belts work great and are not to be overlooked, as they tend to be on old classics.
· As with “All” Classic Jags, the electrical system needs attention:
o Gauges – MOST work just fine:
§ Speedometer “works” but jumps all over. Spent $120 recently to determine if it was the R&I Speedo Cable, and mechanic says the cable is fine and in working order and he lubed it well. However, the Speedo Head needs work, and this was not done at this time – due to time, not the minor cost associated.
§ Tachometer, Oil Pressure Gauge, Water Temperature Gauge, Gas Level Gauge and Battery Power Gauge all work fine.
§ Odometer works perfect and accurately.
§ Switches on cock-pit dash need attention – some work, some don’t.
§ Wind Shield Wiper switch and wipers work well. BUT, who drives a classic like this in the rain??! (At any rate, they work well if you’re stuck in “sudden or unexpected” rain.)
§ Light Switch (headlights) works well and recently tweaked.
§ Brake lights work well, etc…
· Air Conditioning system was recently working but is now not working. It may be something as simple as a loose electrical connection?? It should be a quick repair, but no telling without a mechanic or A/C Specialist checking it out. It WAS cranking out fast and cold air before the switch went on the blink!

WHEELS/TIRES/BRAKES/EXHAUST:
· Original Wire Wheels are in great shape and have lots of nice chrome.
· Tires are decent and hold up well at 120 MPH.
· Brakes work well, have had recent service. They do squeak sometimes, but work well regardless. Maybe just brake dust needs to be blown out with a compressor??
· Exhaust system in great condition and PURRS…
