Sellers description:
This 1972 Jaguar XKE (E-type) Series III coupe is in excellent condition.
The Jaguar has less than 46,000 original miles. It has a 5.3L aluminum V-12 engine, with a three-speed Borg-Warner automatic transmission. The Jaguar has rack-and-pinion power steering with independent front and rear suspension, both of which make this car handle extremely well. The Jaguar has four-wheel disc brakes.

The Jaguar is a 2+2 configuration, which means that it has a very small backseat with a cargo area behind it (see pictures).

The Jaguar's exterior is red. The paint is in very good condition; the only imperfection is a dime-sized blister on the hood's front passenger side. When the Jaguar was restored, it had a $13,000 paint job; the body shop stripped the car to the bare metal, performed the necessary body work, painted the Jaguar (base coat and clear coat), and color-sanded and buffed the car.

During the restoration, the body shop:

* installed a rebuilt steering rack, as well as new lower ball joints, upper ball joint dust gaitors, steering rack mounts, anti-roll bar bushings and lower control arm bushings;
* reconditioned the fuel tank; and
* overhauled the carburetors, water pump, fuel pump, distributor, and radiator.

The Jaguar has black leather bucket seats; the front and rear seats and the headrests were reupholstered in 2000. The Jaguar has a restored stock interior, which includes:

* AM / FM radio;
* wood-trimmed steering wheel;
* black gauges (speedometer, tachometer, oil pressure, engine temperature, and clock); and
* center arm rest.

The Jaguar has a stock air-conditioning system, but it is not currently working.

The Jaguar has radial tires with chrome wire wheels. The Jaguar includes a custom-fit Noah all-weather car cover with bag and cable lock kit.

We have documentation on this Jaguar dating back to 1976.

We are selling this Jaguar because we plan to start a family soon and want a car with a larger backseat. It's an eye-cathing car that's fun to drive and that makes a huge style statement. Consider adding this English classic to your family!

The Jaguar is in Los Alamos, New Mexico, one hour north of Santa Fe and two hours north of Albuquerque. The buyer is responsible for picking up the Jaguar or for arranging and paying for a vehicle carrier to transport the Jaguar to the buyer's location.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
