Ebay item 5/31/18

www.ebay.com/itm/XK-V12-Coupe/132643918139

Car has a buy it now price of $35,950 for 6 days, seller parkplaceltd, 36k miles. Bellevue. Washington

Sellers description:

This 1972 Jaguar XKE Coupe is a 1-Owner From New car that's finished in its original Sable paint with its original Cinnamon Leather Interior. Powered by a 5.3L V12 engine and backed by a 4-speed manual transmission.

It's been loved and enjoyed for 45+ years and is ready for its next owner. Wearing its original factory paint, save for a small repainted section on the hood, and dressed with the original leather interior, this Jaguar is an affordable and sought-after collectible with history from new.

This is not a 'get in and go' 46 year old Classic, this is a project car. (one could easily invest $10k+ into it to have it up to daily driver condition and Months of work) It has been sitting for a number of years So it needs attention. Fuel tank refurbish, brakes, wheel bearings, servicing, tires, bushings, more. However when finished you would have an affordable E-type which is appreciating and worth more than your investment.

It is solid and the engine does run fairly admirably, and it does 'drive'. However It will require refurbishment throughout to all of its systems prior to be roadworthy, and safe. But, with some work, you will be just the second owner of a sensational and rarely seen vintage Jaguar.

Records from 1972 to present, original books, shop manual, copy of window sticker on file.

This particular example wears its original patina proudly. Purchased new at Imperial Motors in Illinois on February 14, 1972, (copy of purchase order on file), its one and only owner is now unable to drive and this Jaguar is leaving the family collection.

To be the second owner of a nearly completely original '72 Jaguar XKE is an opportunity that rarely comes around and, when restored, this example will be a cherished collectible with outstanding provenance.

Factory options on this Jaguar consist of; chrome wire wheels, whitewall tires, Sundym windscreen (tinted), A/C, electronically heated rear glass, and a Bendix AM/FM stereo multiplex. Standard features include power assist

This E-type is priced to sell "As Is" so don't make low ball offers. If you know what this is, and what it's worth finished un-restored, then you'll see the value. IF not this isn't the right car for you. This is also a great find for a full restoration, but then as with most restorations, you would be exceeding today's market value.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
