This car was listed for auction 10/03 at:
www.butterfields.com/areas/motorcars/7467m/detail/7467m-818a.htm
Sold at $8,050.

Auction description:
Lot 818A - 1972 Jaguar E-Type Coupe
1972 Jaguar E-Type Coupe
Estimate: $7000 - $10000
Chassis no 1573007

We are advised by the vendor that this car has air-conditioning, the gauges work and that the engine is great. The car was acquired earlier this year from the original owner and has been driven all summer long.

We have also been advised that the transmission is in poor condition and will not select reverse gear.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
