Opening bid $10,000 reserve not met, no bids, 6 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
Low mileage 1973 Jaguar V-12 FHC (fixed head coupe) in stunning Silver Green Metallic ('79 Jaguar color). In '71 Jaguar introduced the 5.4 liter, 272 HP V12 into the E Type. The six was also available, hence this is a series III car. In 1972 the series II(6 cyl) was dropped, and the series III continued until 1974. The V12 was only available in two versions, the roadster, of course, and the 2+2 FHC. All V12's are on the extended 104.7" wheelbase, and the two place coupe was eliminated. The front wheel arches were also opened and flared, and a Wonderful grille replaced the "Motif" bar. This particular example is equipped with factory air conditioning, Power Steering and the very much sought after and desired four speed manual Gearbox. The Chrome Wire Wheels with Michelin Pilots are just Gorgeous, as is the rest of the car. The odometer on this vehicle now reads 18.000 miles. The original owner replaced the speedo head twice, once at 11,119 miles, and again at 26,342 miles, along with the tachometer(due to jumping needles). The actual mileage is about 57,000 miles. The title reads exempt. I don't think it matters much on a car this age, however I wanted to disclose the discrepancy. EVERYTHING is completely documented in the records. It runs and drives extremely well and is very tight and solid. The motor was rebuilt in April of 1984 with 36,000 The transmission was also rebuilt at the same time, The original owner had his name engraved on the console(NORMAN) In the last few thousand miles, the complete exhaust was replaced(Feb 1999 with 12,553 miles), along with the vacuum advance and all of the vacuum lines(Sept of 1999 with 12,877 miles), both front calipers (Nov of 1999 with 13,034 miles), clutch slave cylinder (Nov of 1999 with 13,391), new Michelin Pilots and tubes (Jan of 2000 with 13,560 miles), and the radiator was recored, along with new hoses (March of 2000 with 13,858 miles). The odometer now reads 14,574. When I purchased it in January of 2002, I had both right side exhaust manifolds replaced with brand new ones. Replaced the heater control valve, and changed the oil and filter. It Runs and drives just as it should and is an absolute Joy!!! The exterior is Silver Green Metallic ('79 Jaguar factory color). It started life as Silver, and was repainted in September of 1984. There was also much rechroming done at this time. This 1973 Jaguar V-12 makes a grand appearance and causes a commotion wherever it goes. This car draws more attention than almost ANY car on the road today. The XKE is one of the most notable sports cars ever conceived. The headliner has recently been replaced(July 1995 with 11,004 miles), and is just beautiful. The headrests were also "restuffed" at this time. The dash and gauges are in very nice condition, they all appear to be in proper working order. The AM FM radio is the original "British Leyland" and works . The original speakers are noisy, and will need replacing. *TEXT ABOVE IS WRITTEN BY THE EBAY CAR DEALER I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM IN 08/03 . I HAVE USED IT SPEARINGLY SINCE (LESS THEN 3000 MILES) AND HAVE THE CAR PARKED INDOORS . I HAVE EXCHANGED FRONT SEATS , TRANSMITION , BRAEK MASTER CYLINDER,PAINT TOUCHUP ++++ CAR LOOKS BETTER THAN MOST NEW CARS ON THE ROAD. MINOR IMPERFACTIONS IN AND OUT

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
