52,902 miles, on ebay 07/09, seller writes: You are bidding on a beautiful 1973 series 3 Jaguar XKE,with only 52,000mi. on it.The body is very straight and the paint is very nice. The paint is not show quality, but shines very nicely. The chrome is original and is nice looking at 10ft.,but does show some wear on close examination. The interior is excellent, there are no cracks in the dash and there is hardly any wear on the seats at all and door panels are in great shape. The seats are soft and supple and the carpet is in great shape. The leather under the hatchback looks faded in the picture[its from the sun reflecting off it],but in person it looks almost brand new.The glass is all in great shape,I couldn't find any chips anywhere. The headliner is in perfect shape! Now for the best part!,the engine was completely taken apart and the heads professionally resurfaced and rebuilt and the valves adjusted. The bottom end was checked and in excellent shape and then put back together with all new gaskets.I called Coventry West Rebuilders[one of the best jag rebuilders in usa] + they said it was common on the jag V-12's to need head work but not bottom end work especially with the low miles that are on this car.The car always starts right up with a couple pumps on the gas + choked and then drives down the road nice + straight after warming up,with the V-12 purring like a cat.All the lights, turn signals etc. work as they should. The tires are michelins and are almost new. This is really nice all around car that looks, starts and drives very nice.If you have any questions give me 24hrs. to email you back or call me on my cell 1-208-664-0125.I have been doing business on ebay for 10yrs. with all positive feedback so bid with confidence and thanks for looking,Harry.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
