Vehicle Description

I bought this Jag 2 years ago from a person who was collector of Jags. I was told the previous owner had about 12 of them at one time . The only history of this car I have is that it was in storage since 1989 and it was never ran since then. It had a salvage title on it. I was told that when the owner's wife went to transfer the title from Ohio to Michigan, the Secretary of State advised her that since they only want to put the car in storage, a salvage title was the best way and they would have no problem to convert it back to a regular title. In order to get the car running, I removed the fuel tank and had it Renu. I put in a new fuel tank sender, flushed the fuel lines, rebuilt the carburetors, put in a new battery, new battery box and new battery hold down bracket. The starter was also rebuilt. I had the front and rear brakes redone with new rotors, new pads and the calipers redone. The front and rear brake hoses were replaced. The lower control arm bushings were replaced as well as new sway bar bushings and sway bar link bushings. I replaced the horns, put new door seals in, a new hatch seal, and I replaced the radius arm bushings. I installed new spark plugs, spark plug wires and distributor cap. I installed new thermostats and a few different water hoses. I was told by the previous owner that the engine, trans and rear differential was redone before they put it in storage. During a recent 60 mile trip to have the car inspected by the State of Michigan, the car ran just fine. It had excellent oil pressure, the trans shifted good, the air conditioning was working great, and the car passed inspection with no problems. Other maintenance done includes: new fluids in the trans, rear end, engine, brake fluid and new anti freeze. The car has not been repainted and it has the original interior. The exhaust was not redone. The air pump was removed and lines plugged off before I got the car. I do have all receipts for the parts that I have installed into the car. I am also giving my service manual with the car. There is an indoor cover for the car and I have the owner's manual for it

After one bid the car appears to have sold at US $17,500.00 (Reserve met)

Current seller/owner says he made a mistake when he listed the car on Ebay. The correct VIN number should have been UD1S74530BW.

Actual text of his answer to my question was " Here are the numbers on the data plate, car no.UD1S74530BW engine no.7S9876LB body no.4S56178 gear box no.14183"

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
