Ebay item 1/3/12
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1971-Jaguar-E-type-Roadster-Original-low-miles-same-owne ...
Current bid $26,889 reserve not met, 11 bids 6 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
This car was purchased from the wife, whose late husband owned this car since the mid 1970s. It was his car in high school. The car is the original Ascot Fawn color with cinnamon interior. The paint looks to be mostly original. A Jaguar Daimler Certificate is available with the car to verify the car authenticity, original colors and numbers matching. This Jaguar is solid throughout. It is more of an original car and not a show car, so it has not been restored. Only 57,715 original miles have been placed on this car since new! The car runs and drives excellent. It has great compression of 150 psi to 160 psi across all 6 cylinders. This Jaguar has an original feel to it when you drive the car. Restored cars are always nice, but there is nothing like the feel of an original car and especially an original Jaguar!

Paint/body: This paint looks mostly original. There is some substantial paint cracking throughout in the paint as would be expected from older or original paint. It looks great from about 10 feet away, but upon closer inspection you will the see the cracking. It has original "patina" which a lot people like in a Jaguar or someone may decide to repaint the car, but original Jaguars are hard to find.

Chrome: The chrome is in good original condition. The front chrome bumpers are cloudy and the center motif bar shows some pitting. The rear bumpers are also cloudy, but clean. The chrome around the windshield, side windows and chrome strip above door are in excellent original condition. The chrome wire wheels and knock offs looks original. They have some discoloration, but overall are in very good original condition.

Interior: The interior is mostly original. It looks like the carpets were replaced at one time. The seats do show original patina. A good amount of the foam in the headrests has gone. This is typical on an original Jaguar from this era. Replacement foam is available if someone wishes to replace, but this goes along well with the originality of the car. The seats have good foam and bladder left, you the driver does sit well in the seats. This car does have AC and it does work and blows cold air. The vents look good and have taken their usual wear over the years, as they were not really made to last from the factory.

Convertible Top/Boot: The convertible top looks to be original. As any convertible top of this age it does show wear with its age, but the top is functional, closes and does fit. Furthermore, the convertible top boot looks original as well. It is in good original condition and works well to cover the top.

Wheels/Tires: The chrome wire wheels are in very good original condition with slight discoloration, but do look very nice for their age. The tires are new

Underside/floors: The underside and floors of this car are solid with no visible rust.

Engine Compartment: The engine compartment is mostly original. It has not been overly detailed, but is clean for being 40 years old. It still retains the original British Leyand sticker under the bonnet. The frame rails and firewall in the engine compartment are body color (Ascot Fawn) as they should be.

Spare tire Compartment: The spare tire compartment is very clean and in excellent condition. Also, under the trunk or boot area is very clean as well with the original jack, hammer and tools as seen in the pictures.

Overall: This is a special original car. It is not for someone who is looking for a restored piece or a car that is a JCNA Concours car. It is a mostly original piece, but NOT a tired old Jaguar. It is up to the new owner where they would like to take this car next or just leave it alone to enjoy. This car can and should be driven. This great original Jaguar just received a tune up and is ready to drive. Original Jaguars that have not been "restored" are hard to find. Furthermore, the original feel and driving experience, as mentioned above is very hard if not impossible to replicate in a restored car. If you are looking for a nice original Jaguar E-type to enjoy for a reasonable price, this might be the Jaguar for you.

This automobile is available for inspection in Cornelius, NC

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
