1970 Jaguar E-Type Series 2 0TS, a brief history of this car.

This car was delivered from the factory to the USA on the 19th June 1970, with the chassis number 2R14197, it is one of the last 600 series 2 E-Types built.

The car was shipped to Avena Garage New Haven Connecticut , who were a Jaguar dealership, they sold the car to a Doctor A Zelnick, of Mamaroneck New York, on the 26th April 1971, making it one of the very last sold, before the Series 3 arrived

Dr Zelnick, sold the car in 1973, to a very well-known New York Architect, a Mr Tiberio Tibera, who kept the car until his death aged 86 in January 2014, the car was then sold by his daughter in July 2014, she was very reluctant to sell the car but her mother was moving from there very large house in Fort Lee New Jersey, to live with her in Pennsylvania.

Mr Tibera, did not like the Silver on the car and decided to have it colour changed to its current Signal Red, this was carried out in circa 1974, he used the car regularly until 1982, and at this point it had covered 52,000 miles, from 1982 to 2014, when I purchased it, it covered only another 11,000 miles in 32 years, which is on average 110 miles per year, we have old service bills to support the current mileage of 63,000, and his wife and daughter confirmed the car was never driven in the winter or any kind of bad weather, and the car spent its life in his heated garage.

Over the years he spared no expense on keeping the car in good running order, and it was sent for a service every year, we have the original service book, and owner's manual.

The car drives, exactly like it should.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
