As seen on eBay, VIN number provided by seller:
You are bidding on a 1971 series II roadster. It has a 4.2 liter 6 cylinder with 3 Weber Carburaters and a 4 speed manual transmition. It has Red leather interior that was refited new about 5 years ago and still that way. A very rare atribute to this car is that it comes with a removable light weight hard-top. There is also a convertible top, although it hasnt been opened in many years, it is still functional and in good shape.
The E-type was an instant classic as soon at it was manufactured. It was then Jaguar's fastest car. They say the 4.2 litre engine was the best of the 3. Bigger and more powerful then the 3.8 and alot more reliable then the notorious problems that the V12's bring. This car is a real head turner, everytime I take the car for a spin I get a thumbs up or a "Daddy! thats a cool car what kind is it?!" I have been told and read in a couple books that jaguar produced only 19 that came to the states of the ' 71 series II 6cylinder roadsters.
The car has a couple small chips and dents, but nothing major. Also there is spots under the doors where glue driped down when they installed the new interior (this will be able to be buffed out). The engine runs very strong and the clutch works well. The engine's rear seal was replaced several years ago along with a new clutch installed, radiator, spark plug wires. The breaks could use a tune up though.
If you live in the area feel free to ask for a viewing or test drive of the car. The buyer must arrange for the pick up of the vehicle and be responsible for the costs if shipping.
I Have the right to end this auction early.
As of 1 May 2006, auction price at $21,100 with 24 bids
