Ebay item 5/20/11
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1970-Jaguar-XKE-Roadster-/110690186115
Current bid $8,100 reserve not met, 8 bids 6 days left in auction. Car has a buy it now price of $21,500.

Sellers description:
1970 Jaguar XKE Series II Roadster. It has only had two owners prior to me. The second owner bought it in 1975 and sold it to me recently. The car was used on a daily basis by the previous owner until about 15 years ago, when he began driving it only on weekends, and then about 5 years ago he only started it up about once a month. Finally, he stopped starting it up about 2 years ago and it has been sitting in his garage in Atlanta since then.

The car has had one repaint in its original dark red. It has never been in an accident, but does have a couple small dents on the right rear fender that have never been repaired (see pictures).

There is some rust in the driver's side rocker and on the driver's side floor where your feet go. I could not find any other rust holes on the passenger's side, trunk floor, sills, or anywhere else. It appears that the driver's side must have been exposed to the weather or something where it sat in the previous owner's garage, to explain why the only rust is on the driver's side. There is no rust anywhere on the driver's door.

The original jack and tool for removing the wire wheels is still present. The top is in very good condition with no rips or tears, and seats are okay, but they could use a good cleaning.

The car has Michelin red line tires all around, and they appear to be in pretty good shape. The red lines are all on the inside for some reason, which is why you don't see them in the pictures.

The engine is not frozen, and is the original, matching numbers one that came with the car from the factory.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
