Sellers description:
Jaguar E type S1 3.8 Roadster 1961

Chassis Number 850180
Opalescent Dark Green
Suede Green Leather
Matching Numbers
Flat Floor
64000 miles
1 owner for the past 30 years
The car was owned by my late father and has been in dry storage in the Isle of Man since 1978. Subsequently i inherited the car after my fathers death and have had the following work carried out:-

The car was disassembled and the body prepared and repainted in the original Opalescent Dark Green.

Due so many years in dry storage the body is in excellent condition.

All of the suspension and mechanical components have been shot blasted and repainted in there original finish.

The car has received a complete mechanical overhaul including:-

Engine - New bearings and seals through out
New std Pistons
New high pressure oil pump
New water pump
New clutch
Gearbox - New replacement
Rear Axle - New bearings and seals through out
Suspension - New joints and bushes through out
Brakes - New hydraulic lines, cylinders and calipers calipers through out
Wiring - Complete new wiring loom

Many upgraded components have been incorporated during the overhaul, these include the following:-

Brakes - Front / Coopercraft 4 piston calipers
E.B.C. Grooved and drilled discs
Aeroquip steel braided flexible hoses
Rear / Larger type XJ calipers
Silicon brake fluid and copper brake pipes through out
Gearbox - Getrag 5 speed
Exhaust - Stainless steel competition system including manifolds
Induction - I.T.G. competition airbox / filter
Cooling - Kenlow electric fan
Starter motor - Lightweight, low voltage, high torque type
Ignition - 4.2 XJ electronic ignition distributor
Competition 8mm silicon leads
Lightweight type lead organizer
Road wheels - Stainless steel competition wire wheels on Pirelli P6000

Steering wheel - Original style in smaller 15" diameter

Fuel system - Red top Facet pump with Filter King regulator

Throttle linkage - Stainless steel

The engine pulls clean and strongly through the gears, with good high oil pressure. The gear change is smooth and quick, whilst the ratios feel excellent in the Getrag 5 speed gearbox.

Many tens of thousands of pounds have been lavished on this car, resulting in a well sorted and beautifully presented S1 roadster.

The underside and engine bay of the car are highly detailed and well finished.

The leather interior is new and in the correct original suede green colour.

The panel fit is superb, the body is pin straight and the paint finish is like plate glass.

Presented with its original works hardtop in matching Opalescent Dark Green and on competition wire wheels, this car looks stunningly good.

The car is located in the Isle of Man where it is availible for inspection.

This is not a true outside bonnet lock car - is it? It has been converted afterwards.........

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
