Ebay item 3/22/06
cgi.ebay.co.uk/1961-E-type-Jaguar-RHD-roadster_W0QQitemZ4623857472
Opening bid £1,000,000, no reserve, no bids yet, 3 days left in auction. Current location said to be Gothenburg, Sweden.

Sellers description:
1961 E-Type Jaguar "flat-floor" roadster 850219

I bought my E-type about 5 years ago and have all of it's history from delivery to K. Constantino in Lusaka, Zambia until I moved it to Sweden a few weeks ago. It has been in Zambia all of it's life. It has body number R2045 and was originally black. From the research I have done it is one of about 50 known remaining RHD flat-floor roadsters.

All I have is what you see in the pictures. I am starting to look for Series one parts so let me know if you have any Series one parts.

What I do have is:

ENGINE: I got a 3.8 engine and two heads with the car. One head is a proper E-type head and looks like it has been polished and ported as the ports are very smooth. Not sure about the other one. Casting number on the block is C20012 FF. The previous owner has several Jags and says he probably still has original block if this is not it.

MECHANICALS: Just the rear suspension (needs rebuilding). I saw a front suspension set on ebay recently for just over 100 pounds and I'll probably find a Getrag 265 gearbox to put in the car if I keep it (or steal the 265 I have for my Tiger!)

BODY: Foors are rusty and need to be replaced. Some rust holes at very back near back bumpers. Damage to right rear wheel arch (from transport) and also wheel the wheel arch joins panel behind door Two dents in bonnet.

If anyone is looking for a black RHD flat-floor OTS to restore, this may be the last one! With restored cars now selling for over £250k, I'd consider offers that reflect this. derek at qedsimplicity

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
