Car now offered at:
www.godinbanks.com
Sellers description:
Manufactured 8th March 1962 this right hand drive E Type Roadster was dispatched to a Jaguar dealer in St Helier, Jersey and subsequently sold. We understand that the car remained on the Island for many years until it came to the UK mainland in the early 1970’s.
It was the subject of comprehensive restoration between 1989 and 1990 by CT Classic Cars of Warwickshire, with the engine being rebuilt by XK Engineering. Invoices accompany the car totalling some £52,000 detailing the rebuild. Finished in its original colour of Carmen red with a black leather interior it has covered only some 1,800 miles since the work was completed as the car was stored without use. Having just had a recent check over and the fitment of new wheels and tyres, the car looks as if the restoration was just completed as it remains in excellent all round condition.
It is supplied with the aforementioned history file, old MoT’s and a current MoT until June 2010. This stunning example of the perfect specification E-Type is a must for every collection.

To be auctioned on June 2nd 2010 by Historics At Brooklands, Weybridge,UK.
Manufactured 8th March 1962 this righthand drive E-Type Roadster was dispatched to a Jaguar dealer in St Helier, Jersey and subsequently sold to the Jersey Golf Club. The club is a Par 68 course, hence the significance of the original registration 'JGC 68' which it retains today. We understand that the car remained on the Island for many years until it was repatriated to the UK mainland in the early 1970's. It was the subject of comprehensive restoration between 1989 and 1991 by CT Classic Cars of Warwickshire, with the engine being rebuilt by XK Engineering. Invoices accompany the car totalling some £52,000 detailing the comprehensive restoration. Finished in its original colour of Carmen red Coachwork with black leather interior and a black mohair hood.
JGC 68 has covered only 1,800 miles since the work was completed as the car was stored after the restoration and used sparingly. Recently fully refreshed and serviced including the fitment of an upgraded brake set by Coppercraft and brand new 6.5 J centre laced wire wheels and Pirelli tyres, the car looks as if the restoration was just completed as it remains in excellent all round condition, with the new wheels improving both handling and the appearance of the car. Supplied with the aforementioned history file which includes the restoration bills and Jaguar Heritage Certificate, a number of old MoT test certificates and a current MoT Road Test Certificate until June 2010, this stunning example of perhaps the most desired specification E-Type is a must for every collection and with the 50th anniversary of the E-Type in 2011, this car will definitely appeal to the discerning collector.
