Auction description:
The Jaguar Legend, Coys (18th June 2005)
The E Type being offered here was manufactured on 2 May 1962, chassis number 860247 an early car therefore, the 9634 WD registered 2-door coupe in red with black interior having been in receipt of a, claimed to have been, full nut and bolt restoration during 1992/3. More recently, in 1998, the 3.8-litre engine was rebuilt and uprated by leading marque specialist Rob Beere whilst the motor has also been converted to run on unleaded fuel. Among other upgrades have been electric cooling fan, stainless steel exhaust system, Coopercraft brakes components and Minilite alloy wheels. Overall current condition of the fixed head is described by the vendor as excellent, while the history file contains V5, MOT and tax disc.
