1962 E TYPE Coupe (Chasis No 860514) Autoglym Concours Winner International E Type Winner Year 1962 Carmen Red / Black Interior PICTURE This totally original car (Heritage Cert) is probably the best E Type to have been offered for sale in a coupe version for many years. This beautiful car was the 514th R/H drive car built for the home market. I found this car in a showroom in Yorkshire whilst on holiday in March 1991. An original car that had been lovingly restored by Philip Welch Classic Cars Ltd. (Restoration started in 1988) After purchasing the car in 1991 I spent many years bringing the car up to Concours condition and went on to win many awards including:- Autoglym Concours De Elegance (Gold) 1993. International E Type Register 1995. Note: The car is for sale due to retirement and other interests. There have been no upgrades or modifications made to this E Type and is sold as it left the factory, even down to its Lead Topped Battery and Dunlop RS5 640/15. It has been housed in a carcoon in a heated garage since 1991. The interior trim had been restored in a magnolia hide when I bought it and a full interior of its original black leather kit was bought from G.W. Bartlett + Co and fitted professionally later, bringing the car to its full glory. This car has clocked up less than 300 miles per year since 1991 and in the past 5 - 6 years it has only run to the MOT station and back. Hence the reason for sale. The restoration costs DO NOT reflect the price that this beautiful original car.

Lovely example of a FHC. Saw an identical red FHC like this last week which was parked up in front of a row of terraced houses in the St Helens area not far from the East Lancs road.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
