This car cosmetically looks fine but on closer inspection is for restoration. It needs serious bodywork done.
Sale price £15,000, well over the odds for a car in this condition.

    Sellers description from above auction:

For Sales is on my lovely daily driven 1962 E-type Jag with an original 3.8lt Engine and 4 speed moss grearbox.

I have owned this car for a couple of years and have spent a lot of time and money upgrading the car. For the last 9 months i have been using the car as a daily driver, as such i have done numerous 3-400 mile round trips to London with no problems. The car drivers very nicely on the motorway and should give the new owner trouble free motoring.

    Upgrades:
New front and rear shock absorbers
    New rear springs
New Coopercraft 4 spot brake calipers
    Stainless steel exhaust
New front and rear Wind screens
    New rubbers
New clutch master and slave cylinders
Brand new 6 inch wire wheels
    Brand new wide tyres
    New fuel pump
    Electronic Distributor upgrade
    Upgraded radiator and cooling system

The engine runs well, but as with a lot of the early 3.8lt motor it uses a little oil on long motorway trips, compression in all cylinder pretty even. Engine nicely polished.

The body is rust free and in good order panel fit is reasonable for a car of its age.

Interior is in good well lived in condition. Headliner needs re affixing and could do with new carpets. This car does not have the original aluminum dash and centre console but the great thing about the E-type jags is that ALL parts are still readily available.

The car have MOT until May 2009 and is taxed until same ( tax is free on classics)

This is a very reluctant sale. Divorce forces sale!

I have a large file of the cars history (which will go with the car), including details of all the expenses incurred in upgrading the car, a number of MOT's, history from the Jaguar Drivers Club and Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Ltd trace certificate, documenting the original registration number, chassis, engine, body and gearbox numbers.

As you can see this is a pretty rare chance to own an honest car, in good overall condition, with plenty of documented history.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
