Info gathered with permission from:

A 1987 rumor placed this car in Florida, in the hands of the owner of another early LHD roadster.

A '62 XKE was offered for sale by Ted Cohen, Wayne, New Jersey, in the July '79 issue of Ejag magazine. The ad read as follows, I assume its attributed to this car:

1962 XKE Roadster Very rare with eternal hood latches. 47th car produced. $3,500.

I bought this car in Burlington in 1999 with about 48000 on the clock. I have driven it lightly but regularly since, now showing 52000+. It is still red but appears to have been Opalescent Dark Blue originally (inside fuel filler opening). This car runs very well and is well maintained mechanically but could use a paint job. I would like to restore it to its original colour some day. Thanks for your great web site.

Just checking in. Still driving 875047. Still have not restored it, but have been maintaining it well. Went for a stainless exhaust a few years ago because the authentic mild ones were rotting out every couple of years. Odo reads 53,316.

Purchased 875047 in December 2020 from Andrew. Fantastic car with loads of originality. Due to floors being replaced, repainted in red from the original ODB, car undergoing concours restoration at www.mossjaguar.com.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
