I have your original picture frame. I don't suppose you'll be wanting it back at this point.
Cheers,

Seller's description:

Year: 1961

Configuration: LHD

Engine: 3800 cc

Price: £245,000

This rare car one of the first 298th E-Type produced by Jaguar at the Browns Lane factory in Coventry, England, manufactured on 26 July 1961 before being dispatched to distributor Jaguar Cars New York on 21 August 1961 being supplied to a Mr Richard Gordon in Bronx, New York. This is one of the very early left-hand drive, outside bonnet lock cars with factory flat floors and welded separate hood louvers.

This car is matching numbers and features most of the original panel work. The hood on the vehicle is an early Jaguar Heritage bonnet, modified to OBL.

The vehicle is Carmen Red in colour and has black interior with black hood. (Original factory specification).

A restoration was completed on the car in 2011 to better than new and to its original specification.

Engine was fully reconditioned by marque specialists VSE with build sheet and specifications including all invoices. All new gearbox and final drive components with rebuilt suspension and chassis and ancillaries. All new braking system from pedal, servo, cylinders, pipework, and all calliper and disc assemblies. All original bright work rechromed with new chrome wire wheels and new old stock Dunlop SP Sport tyres. The wiring system was totally renewed throughout to original specification with correct Lucas RB 310 regulator and date correct electrical components.

In 2013 E-Type specialist Hutson Motor Company based in Bradford looked over the vehicle and created a report. The vehicle is in the same condition today.

This car has been recommissioned ready for its new owner and is barely run in with just 150 miles showing on the odometer.

This is a very rare opportunity to acquire a very early outside bonnet lock E-Type Roadster. Enzo Ferrari described the Jaguar E-Type as the most beautiful car in the world. The car is a real head turner and awaiting its owner to hit the open road.

Supplied with a Heritage Certificate, UK V5 Registration Document and some paperwork. The vehicle also comes with the original Hand Book (not a reprint).

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
