Advertised by Hyman Ltd and seen on autotraderclassics.com April 2014. Asking $125,000.
Seller's description: ".......This 1962 Series I XKE Roadster comes with a copy of the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate of Authenticity. Finished in its original colors of Opalescent Dark Blue with red leather interior and chrome wire wheels with blackwall radial tires, it also has a brand new blue cloth top (as originally built) and top boot. Inside the trunk are the jack, hammer and spare, while the beautiful interior features a solid state radio. Restored to be driven and enjoyed with a period correct but non-matching numbers engine, this car is a very pretty example in fine condition both inside and out."

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
