Advertised for sale on carsales.com.au, 12 December 2014 with an asking price of $149,950. The selling dealer's description follows:
"...... freshly restored 1962 Jaguar E-Type Series I 3.8 litre Roadster! The car was acquired by its current owner from Phil Newey Sports Cars in La Habra (near Los Angeles) California, USA in July 2000. The car was purchased as a 'restoration project' and it needed everything! Over the last fourteen years the car has undergone a concours standard, no expense spared, nut and bolt restoration. The file of receipts for parts purchased and work done is almost 2 inches thick! This car as presented today is just like a new. Finished in black with a contrasting red interior the colour scheme is just spectacular. During the restoration the car was converted to right hand drive and a 'new' 3.8 litre engine from a Jaguar Mk X was sourced, rebuilt (as the original block was damaged beyond repair) and fitted to the car. During the restoration the car has had a number of sympathetic modifications and improvements to make it a more usable classic. These modifications and improvements included fitting a Toyota 5 speed gearbox, a modern cooling system (an aluminium radiator with electric fans) and modern lighting systems. The car looks stunning and importantly it also drives brilliantly . . . just like a 'new modern E-Type'. In terms of describing its condition it is quite straightforward. Everything is new or restored like new. The car has been complianced and registered in Queensland. The current owner has enjoyed the journey that was the restoration project and it's now time for it to find its next keeper".
Photos show the engine number on engine block and data plate is ZA1087-8 (presumed to be from the Mk X donor car). The number stamped on the cylinder head is ZA7703-9.
