History and Description
We bought it in 1981 and used it regularly in dry weather until 1985 when the rear brakes started to leak fluid. Upon removing the rear suspension we thought that was a good place to start a total mechanical overhaul.
25 years later the rear suspension is now fully restored with all new brakes but we have decided it is best sold while the vehicle is all together again. It's been in our dry garage all this time.
The engine was "running well when parked" and we have regularly put oil in the cylinders and turned it over. It still turns freely on the starter but before trying to start it up again we feel the fuel system should be overhauled and the oil and coolant should be changed.
The front brakes will need overhauling and new rotors and wheel cylinder seals are included in the sale as well as the balance of a complete set of Martin Robey brake lines. Those to the rear are installed.
The vehicle is quite presentable but the body was subject to some rust repair in the late 1970's. While it has its original seats, the remainder of the trim is not original. It has a new condition Robbins vinyl top.
The sale includes a spare 3.8 litre engine, an extra painted spare wheel and a trunk lid mounted luggage rack not currently fitted.
The full details are as follows:
Engine
•Original cylinder head with matching number.
•Currently has 4.2 litre block with different engine number.
