- High quality restoration, original engine block

- The original model
This elegant Type E Series 1 roadster was bought by an Italian mechanic who specialised in preparing rally cars. During the 2000s, he set about restoring this car for his own use and, taking his time over it, he achieved a wonderful result. The doors are well aligned, the paintwork is of a high standard and overall the car has a lovely appearance that respects the original configuration and is not over-restored. The interior also displays the same high standards, with dark blue upholstery and carpets and a machine-turned aluminium dashboard. The dark blue hood sits on a painted frame and since being restored the car has covered just 5 745 km (the odometer is graduated in km). The car came to France in 2013 and has hardly been driven since then. The oil pressure gauge has recently been replaced. The cylinder head was replaced during the restoration but this E-Type roadster retains the original engine block, and is lovely to drive.

This elegant Type E 3.8 Series roadster was purchased by an Italian mechanic specializing in rally cars.
It was in 2000 that he embarked on a complete restoration to take full advantage of it and the result is excellent.
The openings are well aligned, the paint is of quality and the cockpit is at the same level for a rendering identical to the origin. Since its restoration, the car has only covered 5,900 km. She arrived in France in 2013 where she was little used. It retains its original engine block while the bolt has been replaced during the restoration.
At the end of 2017, this car has benefited from a major overhaul (€ 11,000 invoice): clutch, brakes, etc.

Of Italian origin, this elegant Type E Series 1 roadster was purchased in the late 1990s by an Italian mechanic specializing in rally cars. In the 2000s, he embarked on a restoration for his own use and, taking his time, he obtained a very good result. The doors are well aligned, the paint has a quality finish and the whole looks good, respecting the origin but without excess. The cabin is of the same standard, with navy blue upholstery and carpeting and a corked aluminum dashboard. The navy blue soft top also rests on painted roll bars and, since its restoration, the car has only driven 5,745 km (the odometer is graduated in km). It arrived in France in 2013, where it was little used. The oil pressure gauge has just been replaced and this Type E roadster is very pleasant to use. It retains its original engine block, while the cylinder head was replaced during the restoration.
Recall that, during its presentation at the 1961 Geneva Motor Show, the Jaguar Type E had the effect of a bomb: its huge bonnet going to join a streamlined cabin did not resemble anything that circulated on the roads of the time. . In addition, this extraordinary car offered the performance suggested by its looks, thanks to the twin-shaft six-cylinder that had made the glory of the brand on the roads and tracks: its 265 hp took it to 240 km / h.
In its Series 1 roadster version, with a very pure line, it also offers the charm of a discoverable car, which allows you to fully enjoy the pleasure of the ride, or even the trip. All the more pleasure behind the wheel of a copy in good condition, such as the one we offer here.
We have the "Jaguar Heritage Trust" confirming its delivery on April 12, 1963 in Rome. It also confirms the original color combination (with the exception of the convertible top color), and the matching of the chassis / engine / gearbox numbers.
The last costs were realized by Cecil Cars at the end of 2017:
Rear brake sender replacement
Bleeding the brakes
Exhaust silentbloc replacement
Replacing the clutch and its sender
Replacing the front brake calipers
Replacement of front & rear pads
Draining the engine
Emptying the deck
Replacing the oil filter
Overhaul of the wiper motor
Overhaul of the heating fan
Installation of an additional fan
