A beautiful 1963 Jaguar XKE with Optional painted (red) Hardtop. Powerful 3.8,6 cylinder, 4-spd transmission all original and the paint is the only thing on this car that isn't original as far as I can tell. The car has been well cared for and as long as I've owned it has never seen bad weather. I've enjoyed driving the weekends and amazed by the attention it brings. The new owner will be proud to pull up in this fine automobile and to me I believe the design of this car is second to none. A thing of beauty driving down the road or parked. Economics forces the sale and if I could, I would keep this car. The early series 1 Xke's have the beauty of the covered headlights and the lack of all the emissions and a fully restored one can bring over 6 digits. Vehicle Condition

As you can tell the car is in great shape. But it is over 40 and does need some attention. I would rebuild the carbs and a brake job. The tires look brand new and the wire rims including the spare are all in great shape. The trunk area is clean and free of rust The complete Jack,tool pouch and Thor hammer is included. I will also include my car cover.

This 1963 Jaguar XKE is a Series I roadster that was acquired by the current owner in 2004 and subsequently refurbished by Lippincott’s Garage of Sinking Springs, Pennsylvania, between early 2011 and August 2012. Work included repairing and refinishing the body in red, reupholstering the black interior, and rebuilding the 3.8-liter inline-six. Equipment includes a later XKE-sourced four-speed manual transmission, 15″ chrome wire wheels, Koni shock absorbers, a black soft top, and a cassette stereo. This XKE roadster is now offered on dealer consignment in New Jersey with a tool kit, spare parts, records and photographs from the refurbishment, and a clean Virginia title.

During the refurbishment completed in 2012, the body was disassembled, stripped, and repainted in its current shade of Signal Red. The hood was replaced during the refurbishment, at which time corrosion on the body was patched and repaired. Features include a driver’s door mirror, split chrome bumpers, headlight covers, a vented hood, and a black soft top with a matching boot cover.

Chrome-finished 15″ Dayton wire wheels are secured with two-eared knockoffs and mounted with 205/70 Pirelli P4000 SuperTouring tires, which were installed during the refurbishment. A full-size spare and a tool kit, hammer, and jack are stored under the trunk floor, which was replaced during the refurbishment. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs with inboard rear rotors, and Koni shock absorbers have been fitted. The brake fluid was changed in December 2021.

The twin bucket seats have been reupholstered in black vinyl, which is complemented by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpeting, the latter of which is protected by leaper-branded floor mats. Equipment includes a polished aluminum center stack and console, a wooden shift knob, lap belts, toggle switches, and a cassette stereo.

The replacement wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset analog clock. Additional instrumentation in the center stack includes gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage. The five-digit odometer shows 83k miles, fewer than 100 of which were added by the current owner. The removed steering wheel is included in the sale.

The numbers-matching 3.8L inline-six was overhauled during the refurbishment performed by Lippincott’s Garage of Sinking Springs, Pennsylvania. Additional service performed at that time included rebuilding the SU carburetors and distributor, replacing the spark plugs and wires, and installing a high-torque starter. Services performed in December 2021 include an oil and coolant change as well as synchronizing the carburetors.

The engine stamp RA2816-9 matches the engine number on the data plate as well as the number stamped on the cylinder head pictured in the gallery below.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a replacement four-speed manual transmission sourced from a later XKE 4.2 model. A replacement exhaust system was fitted during the refurbishment, and additional images of the underside are provided in the gallery. The removed factory transmission is included in the sale.
