Has original lightweight cast magnesium peg drive wheels, correct width adjustable rear suspension. 331 power lock diff and 5 speed Getrag gearbox . Uprated Willwood brakes. Dry sump engine built to competition standard running on triple 45 DCOe Webers.
    Absolutely stunning car.
I bought from a collector who had used it for historic rallies and Continental touring and it is the latest E type in my continuous ownership since 1966.

Sold by Graeme Hunt Ltd of Kensington in Summer 2016. Described as a Lightweight 3.8 E Type by Zealia Engineering. Seller's description below. The URL is
    www.graemehunt.com/motocar/318/1963-jaguar-e-type-3-8-lightweight-by-zealia-engi ...

Chassis 879798 was supplied abroad in LHD when new and still retains her original engine - well in as much as the block is the same. As you'll see below and from the photos she has been appropriately modified to suit her new purpose. Finished in original primrose yellow with correct black leather seating the vision Brian had, was to create a lightweight in homage to the very famous and early version of John Coombes, known by its registration number of 4WPD.

Moreover they chose to make a facsimile of the earliest period of the cars racing history. Light and fast was a prerequisite, so too was, as safe as possible. There is the inevitable metal safety cage to cater for the latter and all the outer panel work except the tub are made of GRP to cater for the former (we can convert this to alloy for anyone desirous thereof). So famous is 4WPD, driven by the greats of the time that an autobiography has been written in more recent times by Phillip Porter.

A fabulous conversion about which we can wax lyrical and list bits here and bobs there - but enough of parts listings. 3.8 litre engine built to competition specification. 5 speed Getrag gearbox. Original body tub reinforced as per the original lightweights. Full roll cage by Safety Devices. Head rests. Correct pattern peg drive lightweight wheels. Racing rubber. Dry sump lubrication. Ventilated boot floor for inboard disc cooling. Correct black hardura to floors, sills and gearbox tunnel. 45DCOE side draught Webers.

These bits are important to us - more info is kept here at the shop for those keen to find out more or even to buy her. To quote from a long term previous owner 'As a young man I heard the Hawker Hunter described as the E Type of the air. Well, to me the Zealia Lightweight is certainly the Hawker Hunter of the road. The glorious sound of the Jaguar engine lingers in the senses for hours like a fine glass of claret or a beautiful woman'.

    Seller's description:

When presented with a car built and prepared by someone as respected as Brian Wilkinson (of Safety Devices Fame), once should take note!

Following on from his huge success with the Safety Devices business, Brian was looking for new challenges and set up Zealia Engineering, specifically to make his own Lightweight E Types – Approximately, 10 cars were built.

Each Zealia was unique, and such was the attention to detail taken over each example, the car we are advertising here took 3 years to complete.

This particular car is based on an early 1963 Series 1 3.8l chassis.

Chassis 879798 was supplied abroad in LHD when new and still retains her original engine block and body tub.

Finished in the original primrose yellow with correct black leather, this car was heavily modified to a Lightweight specification in homage to the very famous and early version of the John Coombes E-type, known by its’ registration number of 4 WPD.
