Ebay item 10/18/12
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1963-Jaguar-XKE-OTS-Carmen-red-JCNA-Certified-Org-surviv ...
Current bid $25,201 reserve not met 16 bids 6 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
Numbers matching 1963 Jaguar XKE OTS flat floor with Carmen red exterior and black interior with matching red hardtop. This one of a kind vehicle has 42,737 to date original miles and is an original 'survivor'. It comes with a JCNA Heritage Certificate. All vehicle components are fully operational, mechanically and aesthetically. All chrome is in excellent condition. All electrical including interior and exterior lighting and dash panel lighting are in fully functioning condition. The original Smiths radio has been disconnected.

This collector's item has a recent safety inspection, which guarantees licensing, and registration. All mechanical including engine, transmission, brakes, shocks, steering and suspension have been inspected and serviced. This unique vehicle has a 3:07 gear ratio, which was determined while servicing the differential. I decided to replace the 4 rear rubber chassis bushings, noticing they were dried and cracked, which meant removing the I.R.S.; it was only proper to service and check the differential and the rear inboard brakes and hand brake. The fuel tank was removed and cleaned and fuel filter replaced.

The 63 XKE did not come equipped with seat belts being that the original owner was a pilot with the Royal Canadian Air force he decided to custom install a set of Irwin aircraft seat belts for safety.

This vehicle also has the famous small rear main seal oil leak. Clearly this is an original and characteristic Jag. This is an original rust-free vehicle, the paint has great finish and shine, hood and left front fender have been painted or blended due to paint fade.

The remainder of the paint on the vehicle has been wet sanded and polished All panels and gaps are straight and true. Front hood needs adjusting The vehicle drives and runs perfectly. No noise, vibration or handling issues. Carburetors are adjusted to spec. Engine starts and purrs with no hesitation. Chrome tail pipes have been replaced.

Everything on this vehicle is original except for the following items: battery, engine compartment fuel hose, new vinyl on center console and dashboard top, black vinyl convertible top, and the Lucas generator has been replaced. This rare vehicle comes with original hardtop, which is missing the chrome finish strips above and below the left side of the window.

I am in the process of getting the front hood adjusted to the left side as you will see a bit of overlap with the bodylines on the right front fender a normal adjustment for this vehicles age.

This car is a head-turner when out driving and is a treat to drive and an incredible experience to listen to it's sound. If chosen to be completely restored to Concours, it would not require a significant investment in resources.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
