The car is on an internet classified board at $33,500:

Ad reads:
"This is a unique opportunity of purchasing a nice, straight rust free southern Jaguar. Serial number 880007 (James Bond would be proud). The 1964 model was the last year Jaguar had the the 3.8 liter engine. This engine is prefered by many Jaguar enthusiasts as it revs better than the later 4.2 liter engines.
Interior: This car retains the original bucket style seats, the black leather is in great condition as are the carpets and door panels. The convertible top was just replaced (in the proper canvas material) at a cost of $1200. All the gauges are working properly. Even the radio is vintage. .
Body: The body is the most important item on an e-type .... and this is where this car really shines! The door and bonnet gaps are are very good. The bonnet is not full of filler and is clean all around. The engine subframe is straight and rust free. Chrome is quite nice including the wire wheels. Paint has a few defects but overall looks very good.
Mechanicals: Runs great! Matching number engine (both the head and bloack), nicely detailed engine compartment, new porcelain exhaust manifolds The Jaguar runs cool even during hot Atlanta days. Great oil pressure, car runs tight , chatter free clutch.
Miscellaneous: Includes boot cover, owner's manual, jack and maintenance chart. Spare tire still has the original Dunlop tire. Ready to be enjoyed!

Please note that the color on the photos is greatly affected by your computer monitor, on some monitors it appears much more orange than in real life.
Price: Reduced from $39,000 to $33,500!"

Car to be at RM auction 3/10/07

LOT: 208
ESTIMATE: $60,000 - $75,000
CHASSIS NO: 880007
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The 1964 Jaguar Series I E-Type Roadster presented here is a 39,600 original mile example finished in red with a black interior and a black top. Being a very straight, solid and well-preserved example, it has never required a complete restoration. However, in recent years the Jaguar has undergone some sympathetic restoration work on an as needed basis.
In 2004, with 36,779 miles registered, the original 3.8 liter engine was completely rebuilt by Jaguar of Denver. Additional mechanical work included the installation of a new clutch and the replacement of the transmission and the differential. It was at this time that a new black top was fitted to the roadster. In January of 2007 the exterior was professionally repainted, so that it would be fresh for the auction.
Not only highly presentable, the E-Type is reported to be an excellent driver. It comes with its jack as well as the original owner’s manual and maintenance chart in their proper sleeve. This is a very usable classic that offers its next owner countless hours of thrilling top down motoring.
