This 1964 Jaguar XKE Series I roadster is finished in yellow over black leather and is powered by a 3.8-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The car was acquired by the current owner in 2001, reportedly from the original owner. Cosmetic work under current ownership has reportedly included a repaint and an interior refresh. Recent service is said to include refurbishing the fuel system, servicing the brakes, and changing the fluids. This XKE roadster is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with manufacturer’s literature, awards from Jaguar events, a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate, a black top boot, a jack and tool kit, and a clean California title in the name of the owner’s trust.
The body was reportedly refinished in Pale Primrose Yellow during current ownership and the car is equipped with a black soft top.
Chrome 15″ wire wheels are secured with two-lobed knockoffs and wrapped in Avon radial tires. A jack and a spare tire are stowed in the trunk. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes, and the pads are said to have been recently replaced.
The cabin was reportedly refurbished under current ownership and is trimmed in black leather with a matching dash pad and carpets. Features include bucket seats, a storage cubby, a Becker Europa radio, and twin speakers mounted to the center console. Discoloration is present on the outboard edges of the seatback bolsters.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a Smiths 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5,500-rpm redline. Center-mounted instruments include gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage. The five-digit odometer shows 28k miles and is said to have rolled over. Total mileage is unknown.
Power is provided by a numbers-matching 3.8L DOHC inline-six, and recent service reportedly included rebuilding the SU carburetors, replacing the rubber fuel lines, cleaning the fuel tank and hard lines, servicing the fuel pump, and changing the fluids.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. Additional underside photos can be viewed in the gallery.
The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate lists the build date, original colors, and original drivetrain numbers.
The chassis tag is stamped with car #880723 and the car is titled in California under the VIN J64880723.
