Ebay item 2/17/08
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-XKE-Convertible-Must-See-Beautiful-Arizona ...
Current bid $23,800, 20 bids, 7 days left in auction. Complete VIN on this car is J64880744.

Sellers description:
BEAUTIFUL 64' Jaguar roadster. Solid Arizona car, GREAT driver, VERY RELIABLE.... How can a 64' Jag be reliable you might ask...? Well; I've got good news, and I've got bad news, and here it is... This car is a 350 Chevy conversion!! It was done by "New Way Fabrication" in Tempe Az. and they did an AMAZING job. I bought it from a Doctor, who had all the work, and restoration/modification done in the early 90's. He said he was sick of it alsays being in the shop, and leaving him stranded, so he had the conversion done, and fixed it once and for all. It has 18,500 miles on it since the resto/mod, and runs/drives/performs wonderfully. I have a folder full of all documents and receipts for the work performed, all done by the best custom shops in the Phoenix/Scottsdale Az. area. The car is an absolute BLAST to drive!! It handles and performs the way a Jaguar should, but has the heart of a Chevy, and the peace-of-mind knowing that parts are available at your local NAPA or Checker, and it won't break you to have routine services performed. If you're looking for a "Concourse" original, numbers matching car, (you probably stopped reading at Chevy anyhow), and this car is NOT for you, but if you want a GREAT driver, that you can take to work every day, and shows on the weekend, this might be what you're looking for. I always wanted an XKE, but was told by everyone "you either have to be rich, or a mechanic to own one", I am neither of those- and I have enjoyed every minute of owning this car!!

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
