Car was sold at a BJ auction in 2002.
    www.barrettjackson.com/auctionresults/common/cardetail.asp

    Auction results and description:
    1964 JAGUAR XKE ROADSTER
    LOT #415 - NO RESERVE
    2002 BJCCA CCA
    SOLD FOR $58,320
    COLOR - RED
    TRANS - MANUAL
    CYLINDERS - 6
    ENGINE SIZE - 3.8 LITRE
    VIN - 880754

JUST ONE LOOK CONFIRMS THAT THIS IS A NUT AND BOLT COMPLETE RESTORATION. EVEN THE UNDERSIDE OF THE BONNET AND BODY ARE AS NICE AS THE TOP SIDE.

CAR HAS ALWAYS SCORED ABOVE 99.8 AT JCNA SHOWS, IT HAS NEVER BEEN REGISTERED FOR THE ROAD SINCE RESTORATION AND THE UNDERSIDE SHOWS IT. CAR COMES WITH TONNEAU COVER, TOOL KIT AND OWNERS MANUAL.

NOTHING QUITE LIKE HEARING AN EARLY "E" TYPE WITH ITS TRIPLE CARBS AND STAINLESS STEEL EXHAUST, TO DRIVE ONE IS TO REALIZE THE DREAM OF MOST JAGUAR ENTHUSIASTS, IT DRIVES AS WELL AS IT LOOKS.

Opening bid US $145,000 reserve not met no bids 6 days left in auction buy it now price $195,000.. Seller westcoastclassics, 51k miles. Now said to be in Santa Monica, California. Car sold at above Mecum auction for $98,000.

    Sellers description:
West Coast Classics are proud to present an extraordinarily straight and beautiful rare nuts and bolts rotisserie restored example of the highest standard 1964 Jaguar XKE E-Type Series I Roadster with it's original matching #'s 3.8L 265HP 6 cylinder engine with original triple SU carburetors and with a black leather interior with wooden steering wheel and five chrome wire knock-off wheels and tools and with a believed to be original 51K original miles!

This is a truly marvelous professionally restored example with extraordinary attention to detail. This fine example has not only been fully restored cosmetically but mechanically also. So here it is, a completely restored 1964 Jaguar XKE E-Type Series 1 OTS Roadster with it's original matching #'s 6 cylinder 3.8/265HP engine with four chrome knock off spoked wire wheels, tonneau cover, factory tools, jack, mallet and spare chrome wire wheel!

The car is reported to have only some 51K original miles by its previous ownership and boasts its original operating, maintenance and service books and its 'Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate'. Refinished in 'Carmen Red' with show quality paint, a laser straight body and uniformly perfect gaps. Even the underside of the hood and the undercarriage are as impressive as the rest of the car. The car has its original leather 'Spear Seats' and a correct canvas soft top and tonneau cover. The car reportedly has consistently scored above 99.8 at JCNA shows.

This is therefore an extremely rare opportunity for the Jaguar or British classic sports car enthusiast who is looking to buy a fully restored correct example with no expense spared of a 1964 Jaguar XKE Series I 3.8L OTS with its highly desirable matching #'s engine and 4 speed manual transmission with only some 51K original miles ~ the perfect collector's early E-Type built in 12/1963!
