Sellers description:
29000 MILES - 1964 XKE OTS. #881091 Original British Racing Green/ Dark Green interior. 29,010 original miles. 2 owner car. This car was last registered in 1977. At that time it was taken off the road. Years later it was dissasembled to restore and it sat idle since then. I have replaced rockers and sills and repaired ( with metal ) any other spots needing work. There is no glass in this car except for a small ding in the trunk lid. The car is missing 2 things that I know of, the ID plate and the motif bar. Everything else seems to be there. Current bid $5,048 reserve not met, 3 bids, 6 days left in auction. Car now said to be in Logan, Utah.

Sellers description:
1964 XKE/E-Type (Chassis 881091 / Engine RA5631-9) with 29,010 original miles is up for sale. I purchased the car in it’s current condition with the intention of building a daily driver for my wife – as we already have several British cars (including a restored 1968 E-Type) things have changed and something “more modern” now seems to be in the cards for my wife.

The car appears to be at least 98% complete … I say 98% complete because although I have not noticed anything missing, obviously I may have overlooked something – all of the parts I have for the car are pictured. The car was originally British Racing Green with Willow Green Interior. All chrome bits seem to be present and although they will need to be rechromed they are in excellent (straight) condition which will assure a good fit and minimize the cost at the chromer.

As you can see it is a nice tri-carb setup and all linkages, etc are intact. Upon removal of the right side rocker cover, the engine internals seem very, very clean and the exhaust manifolds still have a lot of porcelain intact - as you would expect from a low mileage car. The floor pans and rockers on the car have already been replaced and the trunk floor looks perfect so you will have no rust to deal with (the spots on the front floorboards and in the trunk ARE NOT rust – just some dirt) so just do the finish body work/panel gaps/etc prior to paint and you’re ready to go.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
