For future reference...
Coupe # 36, body # 30
All chrome intact
Primative early hinges (no covers)
Different tailgate latch
Different 1/4 light latches
Originally Opalescent Dark Blue with Biscuit interior - we will confirm with a Heritage certificate
We believe actual miles, checking with original owner

1961 Jaguar E Type coupe
Chassis # 885036
For Sale!
This is a rare opportunity to acquire a very special, super-early production E Type coupe that is midway through a total restoration in the Team CJ Works. 885036 was the 36th left hand drive coupe manufactured and was supplied new in the stunning livery of Indigo Blue with Beige Connolly hide interior. The first owner was Eugene Bundick of the University of California at Berkeley. Mr. Bundick must have cut quite the dash on campus in the summer of '61!
We first purchased 885036 back in 2002, eventually selling it to a repeat restoration client who commissioned a total Team CJ restoration. Unfortunately, life got in the way for that particular gentleman, and the project was put on hold indefinitely. Eventually we bought the car back and it has been waiting patiently in the wings for the restoration to be completed.
Before the project was put on hold, we had already completed the body restoration and fully rebuilt the original, matching numbers engine. All of the removed components have been carefully stored since the inception of the project, and it is now time to complete the restoration.
885036 may be purchased "as is" for completion elsewhere, although we would also be happy to discuss completion of the restoration in the Team CJ Works.
Price: $150,000 in its current state, future restoration costs by separate negotiation.
Viewing by strictly appointment. Interested parties please contact Dan Mooney at the Team CJ Works.
