I imported this car into Australia in 2008. It was returned to the UK in 1989, restored and converted to right had drive by M&C Wilkinson. Also upgraded with all-synchro box, series 3 front brakes, alternator, kenlow cooling fan and 6 branch manifold

After consulting the JDHT it was discovered that 885175 had been given the wrong body number at some stage. The ID plate was stamped V1114 when in fact the correct body number is V1206. A new JDHT Heritage Certificate was issued confirming this.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
