From a defect point of view there are four small stone chips to the paint, one on each wing. A small depression adjacent to the filler neck where some nice person decided to kneel on the wing and a "quarter" sized raised piece of filler on the top of the quarter panel which has been there since repaint in 1991 according to the previous owner.

The inside is absolutely stunning in Black with all the right bits literally in, as new, condition. The photos of the vehicle are good, but don't really do it justice.

This Coupe has been a show winner, having taken 1st place at Huntington Beach, Cal in '91 and '92 and a "Best of Paint Award", plus other awards for beauty and class. Built in November 1961 AS # 200 OFF THE LINE, this vintage beauty was first registered in 1962 and is a RARE welded Louvered, Flat Floor coupe, with only about 4 flat Floor Coupes Know to Exist from this year model!! Also, it is a important to note, that this is a left hand car, and only 4 left hand cars with the welded Louvers were made. This fantastic Jag went through a major restoration, where necessary in 1991, and 1992 and is in super condition. It was featured in various magazines and has entered and won several awards.

It comes with the Jag 3.8 Litre FHC LHD 6 Cyl Motor, (Matching Engine number R 2688-9 is The original Motor From Factory), polished Aluminum valve covers, and super clean engine compartment (near good enough to eat off) and has a 4 speed fully sychonized 4.2 Gear Box that shifts smooth and easy. It has twin exhust, and has been converted to Alternator (negative ground) electrical system. The car has a near new set of 205/70VR15 B.F. Goodrich Tires on the chrome wire wheels and is ready to drive, with only 31,000 plus miles on it. The paint color is Gray, and is in great condition. There is absolutely no rust on this great Coupe, as it has always been garaged and covered.

The interior is immaculate, totally restored black leather seats, new carpet, headliner, dash, gauges and other other trim, this car is ready to show!! Also, it has the original Becker Radio that plays well!

I have personally inspected this car closely, and it is stunning! It drives like a dream, runs and shifts smooth, and has plenty of get up and go. It needs 95 octane gas to perform to specs.

The only things I could find wrong with this baby, the tach does not work, and there are 2 minor scuffs marks on the paint job on the driver's side as shown in the photos, hardly noticeable, in fact, I almost did not see them. The car has a spare with wire wheel in the rear storage, also, included is all original paperwork, including the owner's manuel, warranty papers, trophies that it has won, a original magazine article, all maintenance records, and more. I also noticed that the car has been appraised at 75,000.00 by Dennis Mitosinka, 619 East Fourth St. Santa Ana, Ca, May 29, 1991. This was after the owner had invested 59,569.00 in restoration expenses.

Our client the owner is the 4th owner of this great coupe, and only wants to sell because they are retiring and moving to Texas.

Steven D. The agent listing the car called it what he thought it looked like. It is actually darker than Silver Grey and probably closer to if not exactly, Gunmetal.

I recently found and purchased the original matching number gearbox from the gentleman who restored the car. After a brief chat about the restoration and acquiring over 100 photo's from the process, I asked about the original gearbox which was traded for a 4.2 full synchro. I thought I was going to fall over when he stated that he had it and kept it because he had never seen a cleaner one. I am enclosing some photo's before the freshen. It is now on it's way back into the car.

The motor has been rebuilt to similar specs used to achieve the original 150 mph claim. No modern mechanical liberties were employed to achieve this goal. The Original Matching number Moss box is back in the car. The engine has been tested at 6200 rpms. Our run is planned in the spring.

This is cool! Bringin' it back to original specs and then giving it a go for a max speed run. I am intending to do the same with 885017 - I had it several times over 125 mph / 200 km/h, respectively once above 210 km/h. As soon as some strange noises in the back will be fixed, the ignition will have been rectified again, I also want to know what this car is capable of. However the car will not be souped-up.

Even more astonishing is the fact, that according to the Pictures we are talking about an appearance in show car quality.

Thanks, Stefan. Some new pics finally loaded. We have a set of factory New Old Stock Competition rear wheels. and standard fronts on Dunlop racing R5's We are also using the same Cam covers with breathers and oil fill cap like pictured in the test car in Porter's book. The belts are restored with the original labels dated January 1962.

I ordered 4.2 FHC 1E32642 in Feb 1966, took delivery on March 31st.
Over the course of time that I owned it, I buried the speedometer
numerous times and can tell you it ran straight & true without issue.
Pretty hairy watching telephone poles go by like picket fence rails
at that speed. I had a favorite stretch of new highway built in the middle of nowhere in eastern Connecticut & every time I got there the
accelerator peddle went to the floor. Good luck on your run!
