Sellers description:
All components and systems have been rebuilt or replaced in this very special numbers matching early Jaguar. No expense or detail was spared in this correct and proper Show level restoration to the highest standards. The craftsmanship is superb as well as the fit. Perfection was our goal in restoring this original coupe. During the restoration process the body was stripped to bare metal, rotisserie restored with all body parts metal worked, fitted to the body, primered, sealed and painted base coat and clear coat, color sanded and buffed to a magnificent finish. All parts were painted individually and chrome was fitted to the car in bare metal. The 3.8 engine was rebuilt to factory specifications matching and calibrated with new pistons, bearings, seals, timing chain, head completely rebuilt including new valves and guides, rebuilt carburetors, new clutch system, all new hydraulic system, new brake system lines and hoses, drive shaft balanced, new shocks, all other parts refinished in its correct finish, new suspension, new wire harness, gas tank restored and epoxy sealed, rebuilt fuel pump, all electrical components, gauges, knobs, switches rebuilt, rescreened or replaced, hardware has been black oxide coated to factory specifications, all correct Cheney clamps installed, new correct aluminum panel on the console, seat frames restored, replaced stone guards, new triplex windshield and door glass, new drip panels, new exhaust system, rear end completely rebuilt as well as the transmission. Also received new rubber, seals, grommets and gaskets, trim and bright work replaced or re-plated. Our upholstery department craftsman custom made and custom fit an all new proper interior including carpet, panels, dash, headliner and seats all redone in its proper materials. A lot of time spent on detail and quality throughout this restoration process. This freshly restored example has less than 100 miles since its completion and the time was taken to properly sort the car out. This is one of the finest examples in the world for sale. The fit, attention to detail and craftsmanship is to its highest level. This is a candidate for all future Concourses. A DVD of the restoration process accompanies this car.
