Heritage Notes
First owner: K.L. Classen MD, Nashville, Tennesse
Owner: Bernard Cristalli
I'm near Paris (France). I had a few classic cars from a 69 VW to a Jaguar XJ6 series 3, and some more... At the time I've got an XK120 FHC and two series 1 E-Type. The RHD one was to have a ground up restoration, but I'm forced to sell her because another S1 is there. The S1 XJ6 is supposed to be my everyday car. If you're on a trip in France and are stalled you can contact me. I know a fine shop near my place. (email)Updated April 5th, 2009. Not legal proof of ownership. |

Ebay item 9/26/08
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-XKE-1962-Jaguar-E-Type-XKE-Series-1-Coupe_ ...
Current bid $4,800 reserve not met, 3 bids, 9 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
This car starts instantly at the turn of the key. This car has runs and drives beautifully. The interior is in impeccable shape.
This E-Type recieved a complete restoration in 1995. Everything was dismantled and a correct-to-original restoration took place. The interior is just drop-dead gorgeous.
The motor of course is the legendary 265 horse power 3.8 litre 6 cylinder. The triple carburetor set-up runs flawlessly. This car has instantaneous power that is smooth and reliable. The carbs are perfectly in-synch.
The transmission is the original 4 speed manual. It shifts just like it should and is a blast to drive.
The car has the beautiful Stainless Steel Polished "Big Bore" exhaust. The throaty resonance will astound you.
The "engine-turned-type" dash and counsel is in great condition. It's a classic look that seems so appropriate for a car like this.
The car has been thoroughly gone over with a top to bottom refreshing this summer. New plugs, wires, fuel pump, battery, ignition, paint repair, etc. Driving impression has been determined to be just as new with No Known Defects.
The Original Jaguar Owner's Manual is Included!
The brakes work phenomenally with the sophisticated way-ahead-of-its-time 4-wheel disc brake system. This car has 150 mph capability, so good brakes are a must!
Due to the death of my uncle's employee, this car has become available for the first time in decades. It has been lovingly refreshed for the last several months. It attracts attention everywhere it goes. And most of all, everyone asks to drive it.
This Cat is free from the rust problems that plague many similar cars in the region. It shows no signs of ever being driven in the winter. And from the low mileage, one can deduce that this was a summer cruiser.
The suspension on this E-Type is surprisingly comfortable. One might expect a rough rigidity to a car of this stature. Nothing could be further from the truth. This car hugs the road and is as smooth as silk.
The factory SMITHS gauges all work properly and reliably. The horn does a nice job of saluting the waving passerbys.
The wooden steering wheel and center medallion are in exquisite shape, along with the like-new gear shift knob.
This Jaguar is meant for the open road. She's a driver. This is not a show car. One would not have a tough time turning this Cat into a show car, but thus far its owners have seemed to prefer to drive her. After all, isn't that what a car like this is for?
This XKE starts readily , cold or hot, and idles with authority. The factory choke system with an indicator light works perfectly. The oil pressure when at idle is a strong 60 pounds. At speed the oil pressure is still strong in the 50 pound area.
This car is a joy to pilot. It does not display any ill manners. Lights and turn signals work as they should.

This car is now in France.
It's nearly as nice as it was supposed to be.
The speedo is in Km/h (KPH), so I suppose it was delivered new in continental Europe. I ordered a JDHT certificate, further infos later.
