Sold by Sayer Selection at M and C Wilkinson near Bawtry in July 2023. Seller's description below.

www.sayerselection.com/1962-jaguar-e-type-semi-lightweight

Chassis number 885948 was first registered 1363WK in the UK before its export to the USA. This incredible E Type has now been fully rebuilt from the original tub to the latest M and C Wilkinson ultimate lightweight specification from 2018 to 2020. The body tub has been completely refreshed to the latest Sayer specification with aluminium bonnet, doors and boot lid; and finished with the latest specification of FIA approved custom cage, Tillet seat, lightweight fire extinguisher and Sayer FIA approved fuel safety cell. The engine is to the latest specification Crosthwaite and Gardiner wide angle head engine, with Sayer specification FIA gearbox and differential, then finished with our latest specification suspension.

Upon completion of the build, the car has been campaigned on two occasions and won both races; the first being the Equipe GTS race at Donnington, and then the second being the HSCC Dunlop Jaguar Historic Trophy race at the Oulton Park Gold Cup competing against a strong field of Jaguars, including Jan Minshaw in his E Type, and after an hour long head to head race; the car was the first to the chequered flag to take victory in this sole Jaguar race of the year. This trophy winning car is is currently entered and planned to compete in the upcoming Motoring Racing Legends anniversary races and events this year at Donnington Historic Festival and the Silverstone Classic.

With current FIA ATP papers valid until 2030, this is a truly unique opportunity to become the owner of a potential front running and winning lightweight E Type.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
