A superb recreation of a lightweight XKE built at enormous cost. As with the original, this car has a dry-sumped 3.8 liter engine with three 48mm Weber, twin choke, carburetors, a five speed gearbox and aluminum body panels. It has ventilated disc brakes and Dunlop alloy wheels. It is currently set up for racing but, with a minimum of effort, it can be made street legal."

Sellers description:
1963 Jaguar E type 3.8 series one rebuilt to CUT 7 Low Drag specification. In a previous life in 1991, this car was the outright winner of the French FIA GTS Championship in the hands of well known racer Thierry Gay, beating stiff opposition from both Aston and Ferrari. Purchased by the present owner from Eagle E types in 2003, it was then successfully campaigned by him in numerous events which included winning the Aston Martin Owner's Club Intermarque championship in 2005. Having since retired from racing, the same owner instigated the full rebuild to its current road going Low Drag specification. All of the works were carried out by R S Panels of Nuneaton who have many years of experience in this type of work. The steel monocoque correctly finished to full lightweight specification using all aluminium panels throughout including bulkhead cladding, rear wings, hard top, doors, bonnet and boot lid all hand beaten by RS Panels. Fitted with a fresh iron block engine with a large valve, ported and polished cylinder head and fitted with Weber Alpha fuel injection and controlled by a full DTA management system. It has a lightened balanced crank, steel rods, lightweight pistons and a compression ratio of 12.0 to one. It runs a full race cam and delivers 345 bhp and the dyno chart is available with the car. It has a certified roll cage and although now in road going specification, it could be easily returned to FIA specification. This fabulous Low Drag E type has been built to the highest standard and the trimming of the interior is quite exceptional. Bound to continue to appreciate. £225,000
