Car to be at auction 6/24

angliacarauctions.co.uk/classic-auctions/2649-22-Jun-2024/6419~1-1962-jaguar-e-type-38-coupe-si

Estimate: £34,000 - £38,000

1962 JAGUAR E-TYPE 3.8 COUPE SI

V5 present

MoT exempt

Chassis number: 887146

This is an early example of Jaguar's iconic E-type, a Series I 3.8-litre coupe built in 1962 and initially a LHD model, registered in the USA. UK registered in October 1995. Converted to RHD. Four registered keepers are recorded since then, and the car's odometer shows 26,452 miles. Its last MoT expired in August 2018 after being tested the year before at an indicated 26,452 miles. This figure has been the same since July 2008, suggesting a stuck odometer. Non matching engine and chassis numbers. As an historic vehicle though, the Jaguar is now MoT-exempt.

Paperwork with the Jaguar includes the current and past V5Cs, MoT certificates back to 1995, and a large stack of invoices. There's also photos and an album from the mid-1990s showing the car being restored plus a report on the work dated November 1995. A set of spare keys come with the car too.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
