Sellers description:
1964 Jaguar E-type Fixed Head Coupe. This is a numbers matching car that had an original exterior color of Cream and an interior color of Black as stated on the included Jaguar Heritage Certificate. I have owned this car for 40 years and not completed the restoration. It will make a great project for someone!

I purchased the E-type in 1973 and it was not running and had been sitting for a few years. In 1979 or 80 a body restoration was done and it was painted in the present color. Body was sanded down to metal in most area's and some metal was replaced It was painted with several coats of lacquer.
With starting a new business funds were not available to finish the rest of the interior and the car was put back into dry storage from one location to another thus the condition of the body being dinged and nicked from boxes and other parts stored on and around the car. Some dents from putting it on and off trailers. The body is very solid as you can see from the photos and no rust damage is showing other than the surface rust from the scrapes.

In the late 90's and early 2000's the car was taken to Illinois and a professional mechanic removed the motor for a complete rebuild. The brake hydraulics were also rebuilt from master to calipers and are in good working order. The clutch assembly was replaced along with the shocks and radiator. The exhaust is new old stock from a Leyland dealer which has long since closed and has next to no run time since installed. We did recently repair one of the front flex pipes with a new section of flex as it was torn off in one of the trailer moves. It got caught as it was coming down the ramps. It was brought back to home with the intention of finishing the project but once again work did not permit and it was again placed in storage. We removed it and brought it to a shop to get it running from storage and made the decision to sell the car. Some work was involved to start the car from storage as the electric fuel pump was dead and a temporary pump placed inline with a gas can to run and drive the car.
The carburetors were pulled and rebuilt as the diaphragms had failed. Once running the original electric oil gauge was not working so a temporary mechanical gauge was connected to verify good oil pressure. Once everything was up and running the car was taken on a short test drive and the gearbox and all other mechanical seem to work fine. This is the present state of the car as I can best describe.

With most of the mechanical issues resolved, my next step was to disassemble the E-Type and media blast the body interior and exterior then evaluate the bodies condition.
This is an excellent restoration candidate and when finished will be a car to be proud of your ownership. We have provided several pictures and a short video of the engine starting and running for your review. Most all the removed parts are boxed and will go with the purchase.

This Jag comes with a bonded title from the state of Iowa.
I might explain the bonded title a little more, When I purchased the car in 1973 Iowa require a full inspection or the title went to a red title until rebuilt as was required by this car. Since it was never made road worthy and the Iowa law has changed and to make things worse the state has changed registration systems three times and all old records purged. Working with the state, Jag heritage, and myself, the car was given a bonded title with no limitations or restrictions. It is being offered with a correct title and all proper paperwork to support.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
