Lot #151410

This 1964 Jaguar XKE Series I coupe was refurbished in the late 1990s and it has been fitted with a five-speed gearbox. The car is finished in British Racing Green over tan leather and powered by a 3.8-liter inline-six. Equipment includes a limited-slip differential. tripod headlights, 15″ alloy wheels, power-assisted disc brakes, triple windshield wipers, and a heater. The seller purchased the car in 2024 and it is now offered with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, a spare set of wheels and tires, and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.

Series I E-Types were equipped with covered headlights and taillights mounted above the chrome rear bumpers. Originally Opalescent Dark Blue, this example was refinished in British Racing Green in the late 1990s and is equipped with aftermarket tripod headlights. The seller notes bubbling paint on the bottoms of the doors as well as several areas of touch-up.

15″ Dunlop-style alloy wheels are secured by two-eared knockoffs and mounted with 205/70 Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. The wheels and tires were installed in 2017, the brakes and suspension were overhauled during previous ownership, and Koni dampers are installed. The seller notes that a spare set of wire wheels with tires is included in the sale.

The cabin was originally trimmed in blue and was reupholstered in tan leather during previous ownership. Features include bucket seats, textured aluminum dash trim, a sliding rearview mirror, and a heater. The Motorola radio does not work.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a Smiths 160-mph speedometer and 6k-rpm tachometer, while auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and battery charge are located in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 55k miles, approximately 100 of which were added under current ownership. The battery gauge is an aftermarket replacement.

The 3.8-liter inline-six features triple SU carburetors and was factory rated at 265 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The exhaust manifolds are ceramic coated, the electrical system has been converted to 12 volts, and an alternator, aluminum radiator, and electric cooling fan are installed.

The cylinder head stamp R9129-9 matches the engine block stamping and the Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate.

A Tremec T-5 five-speed manual transmission was installed by the previous owner using a Moss Motors kit. There is a rust hole in the cargo area floor.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace certificate shows the original colors and drivetrain numbers as well as the build and dispatch dates.
