Car listed on EBay:

cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll

Description: Jaguar : XKE

1964 XKE, SERIES 1, 3.8 LITER, FHC, COMPLETE

Miles: 50507 Doors: 2 doors

Transmission: Manual Interior: Beige/Tan

Engine: 6 - Cyl. Year: 1964

VIN Number: 887751 Exterior: Burgundy/Maroon

THIS CAR HAS BEEN STORED IN MY GARAGE FOR 33 YEARS (1970) AND IS A GREAT CANDIDATE FOR A TOTAL RESTORATION.. THIS CAR IS 99.9% COMPLETE AND HAS NOT BEEN CANABALIZED OR MODIFIED. THE ONLY THINGS THAT I KNOW ARE MISSING ARE CHROME TRIMS AROUND THE WIDSHEILD AND THE REAR WINDOW CHROME TRIM. THE TOP CHROME TRIM ON THE INSIDE OF THE DOOR ARE OFF BUT I HAVE THEM. ALL THE GLASS IS GOOD EXCEPT FOR A CHIP IN THE LOWER MIDDLE OF THE WINDSHEILD. THE CLOCK , WINDSHEILD WASHER, AND RAIDO DO NOT WORK( RAIDO WORKED WHEN STORED BUT DOES NOT NOW. IT DOES HAVE A SPARE WHEEL AND ORIGINAL JACK AND KNOCK OFF HAMMER. I HAVE OCCASIONALLY CLEANED OUT THE OLD GAS AND STARTED AND RAN THE CAR PERIODICALLY OVER THE YEARS. I HAVE OWNED THE CAR SINCE 1968, THE NUMBER ON THE ENGINE WAS EASY TO FIND AND DOES MATCH AND SINCE THE CAR WAS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD WHEN I BOUGHT IT AND GOOD MECHANICAL CONDITION I AM ASSUMING ALL THE NUMBERS MATCH. IF VERIFICATION IS A CONDITION OF A BID OR SALE I WILL VERIFY IF YOU CAN TELL ME WHERE TO FIND THE GEAR BOX NUMBER AND IF I DON'T HAVE TO TAKE THE CAR APART TO GET TO IT.

THE NUMBERS ON THE ID PLATE ARE:

CAR (VIN) 88751 BODY# V4793 ENGINE# R 9229-9 GEAR BOX# EB 8401 J5

Vehicle Condition: THE CAR IS 99.9% COMPLETE AND IS A GREAT CANDIDATE FOR A TOTAL RESTORATION. THIS IS A MIDWEST CAR SO IT DOES HAVE RUST IN THE TYPICAL AREAS, BUT NOT BAD. THE FLOORS AND SPARE WHEEL WELL ARE SOLID AS IS MOST OF THE CAR..THE BODY HAS SOME DINGS ANB DENTS, NOSE WAS DAMAGED AND BONDO WAS USED IN THE REPAIR AND HAS COME OFF. ON THE DRIVER SIDE THERE IS A SMALL DING AT THE FRONT AND A CREASE UNDER THE CHROME BUMPER ON THE BACK AND AN OBVIOUS DENT IN BACK OF THE FROMT WHEEL. THERE IS A DING IN THE BACK NEXT TO THE DRIVER BACK BUMPER GAURD. I BELIEE THE BODY DAMAGE AND RUST CAN BE SEEN REALLY EASY IN THE PHOTOS I TOOK. I CLEANED THE OLD GAS OUT AND CLEANED THE FUEL PUMP AND TRIED TO START. THERE IS NO SPARK. I DON'T KNOW IF I WILL HAVE TIME BEFORE AUCTION END TO GET THE PARTS AND START THE CAR. THERE IS A SMALL PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINE, AFTER IT IS WARMED UP IT WLL SMOKE. I HAVE NOT HAD IT PHYSICALY ANALIZED BY A MECHANIC, BUT BY THE SYMPTEMS THE GENERAL CONCENSUS SEENS TO BE THAT IT HAS A STICKING EXHAUST VALVE.

There are 5 bids so far to a price of US $2,500.00 (Reserve not met)

Glass is good, other than scuffs on front windshield. Chrome is complete except front windshield trim and rear hatch trim. Hi,

I'm the new owner of this E-type, and I'm living in France, near Paris.

A lot of work has been done since I bought my car, and a lot of work still need to be done !!

The exterior appearence is still the same, but many mecanics parts have been changed, and the interior is now better looking !

It's a wonderful car to drive, and to look at. Even if some surprised appeared, I'm really happy to had bought this Jag.

Seller's description:

Jaguar E-Type

S1 3.8 FHC LHD

Aix-en-Provence, FR€ 109.900,-

General: Extremely rare in this original opalescent maroon color, this Type E is in satisfactory general condition. However, a few attentions would allow it to regain all its former glory.

Exterior: The exterior of this car shows undeniable traces of wear, which does not, however, take away its natural charm, especially since its general appearance is preserved and its structure is generally sound. The bodywork has a particularly rare original Opalescent Maroon color. In fact, only four in Europe and only one in France are referenced as Type E S1 3.8 FHC LHD. The original chrome going around the rear window is also rare enough to be noted. The lights and mirrors are in excellent condition.

Interior: The beige interior matches perfectly with the body color. It demonstrates the history of this Jaguar, particularly with its patinated leathers; some would appreciate a restoration while others would prefer to preserve this authentic spirit. Being a series 1 from before 1964, it obviously exposes the bucket seats as well as the characteristic aluminum dashboard.

Mechanical: The 6-cylinder starts well and revs well, it was repaired 10 years ago during the restoration. The dynamo has been replaced by an alternator (one of the rare changes compared to the original) which gives it more reliability. The original gearbox was replaced (but retained and included with purchase) by a Type E gearbox from 1965 to have 4 synchronized speeds and therefore more comfort in use. The rear brake discs have been replaced by larger diameter, more efficient discs. Also, a Kenlowe fan was added to cool the block in addition to the original two-blade propeller. Finally, the fuel pump and the clutch slave were changed a year ago.

Car listed on www.carjager.com/acheter/voiture-collection/jaguar-type-e-serie-1-38l-CJVCL27102 ...

Price reduced to € 99.900,-

Seller's description :
