Ebay item# 2434226972

Current bid $8.5k, reserve not met, 2 bids, 8 days left in the auction. 145k miles on the car.

Sellers comment:
A 1963 Jaguar XKE Coupe and Sebring Plus. Body color is a light blue metalic painted by the previous owner. Engine is original 3.8 litre with 4 speed transmission. Capable of 140 mph+. The Sebring Plus means the car is geared for high-end road racing and without admitting to breaking any speed limit laws, I can attest to the fact that this is a fast car ! We have owned the car for 6 years and have kept it inside, putting less than 3,000 miles on it!

Vehicle Condition
This is a good, clean car with a nice body and paint. It was made to go fast and look good. It does both. It has good tires and is driveable. The wire wheels are painted silver, not chrome. 2nd gear is difficult to achieve when downshifting from 3rd. I have a low-mileage transmission that goes with the sale. The engine is starting to burn oil and an overhaul would go well with the extra transmission. The interior is nice, but there is a hole in the right side panel where an after market air conditioner was removed. The interior in general is nice, carpet is worn. Space for, but, no radio, no antenna. Generator was removed and replaced with an alternator by previous owner. Ampmeter was not hooked back up. The clock is disconnected to save draining the battery. Someone in the past removed part of the air ducting into the right side of the engine compartment, but it doesn't appear to have any affect on performance or cooling. This is a better than average E-Type and has potential for being a"Concourse" restoration.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
