Delivered new on June 27, 1963 by the Jaguar distributor in New York, this E-type coupé underwent a total restoration completed in 2017, after which it was tested on the road for a few hundred kilometers and then parked and used only occasionally until to date.
In the second half of 1963 the first 3.8 series began to leave the dealerships with some modifications requested by the American market (which ordered the majority of them) including the replacement of the aluminum center console with one covered with vinyl of the same color as the upholstery which was required above all by very hot states where the same, due to the heat of the gearbox and transmission, became boiling!
An armrest was also added in the console, and also one in the doors. The rear hatch hinges were covered with shells, but apart from these visible changes the car was still technically identical.
This coupe mounts all the original components as per the numbers indicated in the Heritage certificate, the restoration is documented by invoices and photos, and there are maintenance invoices from the 1970s.
The color scheme is chosen from the original Jaguar range of those years, although the car was sold in the unattractive "cream" exterior with red interior combination.
The car has American documents, and has already been cleared through customs with a Dutch bill valid for all European countries, and therefore ready to be registered.
