I bought this nice car 2 months ago, currently fine tuning it before passing 'controle technique' (MOT) next week. I will add more comments as the car is completed.

Patrizio, yes indeed, the strange thing is that my car (888981) is officially October 1964, eventhough it must have been built around October-November 1963. It is now on the road, it passed the Belgian 'Controle Technique' (MOT) last Thursday and came out virgin! It drives very very smoothly and seems very sound, high oil pressure, very regular temperature... this cat is beautiful!
I might be going down to Italy in a couple of weeks with it, passing through Switzerland...a photo occasion?

I have just completed a 4000 km trip from Brussels to Rome and back, with no problem whatsoever, the car performed faultlessy with astonishingly low oil (0,75 liter/1000km) and gazoline ( 10,4 liters/100km on highway, 13-14 in mixed circuit). What a fantastic car!!!

Nice car, Bruno. When I saw the photo of the car in Tuscany, prior to reading the caption, I thought it was in the Paso Robles area of central California. Then I see that the car had spent time in Oxnard, not far down the coast! I may have seen your car in events in this area, when I was showing 1E30036, now in Denmark. Small world! Good to see that you drive it as is intended. I'm currently restoring 4.2 FHC 1E32208.

Mark,
I am in the process of contacting the original owner of my car (he lives in Palm Springs, CA) ! I have already talked to his brother, who remembers the car very well, he confirmed the information from the Jaguar heritage which states that the original colour was Opalescent Dark Green. I have asked them to try and locate some period pictures, I will put them online as soon as I receive them...the trip to italy was incredible fun, so much in fact that i am going to do it again in just 3 weeks!!!

Bruno, it's great to hear that you've located the original owner to help document your car's history. It sounds like your E-Type spent most of its life in California. I wonder if it was ever in Palm Springs, a place that will put any British cooling system to the test! Please post photos of your upcoming trip to Italy. Running an E-Type through Europe is something I've only been able to dream about! Have fun!

Man, I am so jealous. I found the original owner of my car, but he never replied to correspondence.

Bruno, it's good to hear that the original owner was receptive to your request. This adds to the fun. I'm sorry to hear that Roger has been unable to get information from the original owner of his car. When I owned '036 I was able to trace its history in southern California back to 1970 and the map of Connecticut found under the seat alluded to years prior.
I'm looking forward to seeing the 1963 photos!
